Game thoughts Rice

This sport has awful officiating. It was the same idiot ref as the UTSA game. He’s an idiot.

Way too many reviews. That just gives teams extra timeouts. No foul called on that last shot so there can be no review.

Rice coach is trash. Absolute trash. He can’t act like that.

Proud of our guys to get a road win. We should have stepped on their throat. They suck.

EOH Podcast-Post Game Radio Remix--& possible explanation of late review

On the latest Eye of the Hurricane Podcast, Post Game Radio Remix with highlights and interviews with Coach Konkol and Jared Garcia. Also, not necessarily confirmed, a possible explanation on the end of game review by the officials. Again, nothing from the end of game indicated a foul was called.....however...

PJ

"At the charity stripe, Haggerty probably isn't going to challenge Zach Edey for the national lead in made freebies. But at 64-for-78 through nine games, he's on track to score at least 215 points just in free throws.

And with 22 steals, he entered Tuesday night's game against Mississippi Valley State roughly on pace for 75 takeaways. (Assuming Tulsa plays 31 games, which would mean an immediate exit from the AAC tournament and no postseason tournament.)

If Haggerty were to hit each of those marks (215 free throws and 75 steals), he would become just the fifth non-senior in the past three decades to do so.

The others? Allen Iverson, Stephen Curry, Kemba Walker and Russ Smith."

Article is 3 weeks old...but that is kinda cool. Might do something that only 4 other freshman have done in last 30 years. What a list of names!!!

🏈 Recruiting TU adds important pieces from the transfer portal

While Tulsa added an impressive list of 24 high school signees on Wednesday, the most immediate impact will most likely come from the transfers that are headed to TU in January. The Hurricane signed four talented players from the transfer portal, as well as two junior college prospects.

Past Player Spotlight today is Brandon Betson. This was just a quick overview nothing in depth. Betson is now with Sacramento State as a Senior. Sacramento State is 6-12 on the year. Betson started the first 8 games of the season and out of the 18 that the team has played he has missed 4 of the games and 3 of those have been the last three games that were played. Sacramento State won 2 of those three he did not play in. He has logged 302 Minutes this season and is shooting 34.7 percent from the field, 31 percent from 3 and 85.2 percent from the line. At Tulsa he was 41.5 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from 3 and 82.1 percent from the line after logging in 782 minutes.

Harbaugh Back to the NFL

What type of trickle down effect will this have on coaches around the country OR does Michigan stay in house with the guy that actually was the interim HC for 6 games this season while Harbaugh served his various suspensions? AND, is this more of a sign that Harbaugh didn't want to deal with NCAA rules any longer or NIL or the transfer portal? I think the Chargers is an odd place for him but I think he is going to turn Herbert into a monster of a QB.

And what happens to Michigan's roster? Does it get raided in the transfer portal? Do they have any OL Wilson can poach?

An odd thought about AAC Tournament

An odd thought landed in my mind. The University of Tulsa’s chances to win the AAC tournament, while thin, are better than they have been in several years, mainly due to parity and the elimination of Houston from the field. Chances for TU are still around 6-9%, but with Houston in the tournament it was always around 3-5% One team gets hot like Houston at the BOK several years ago and you have a big upset. Should be the most fun AAC tournament in years to attend.
