📝 Larry Lewis Game Recap -- Tulsa falls short against UNT on Senior Day

When TU can't beat North Texas at home, it's obvious that the season is ill-fated. A major talent upgrade is on the way, and should help things. But until then, Tulsa dropped its 6th consecutive game, losing 35-28 to North Texas in front of a crowd of 16,250 at H.A. Chapman Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Tickets for tomorrow night

If anyone isn't going to make tomorrow nights game, my son and I will happily put 2 of your tickets to good use. I owe him a game since his mom scheduled his birthday party over the football game Saturday (in her defense the kickoff times were announced late)

I do plan to buy a pair, just thought I'd ask here first. Hate to see a pair of lower level seats go to waste 🤣

GAMES OF INTEREST (11.11.23 - 11.13.23) INCARNATE WORD

ITS GAMEDAY!!!!!

First I would like to say a Happy Veterans Day to all of the service members past and present for their service. This includes those I served with both in the Marines and the Army. Enjoy your day.

Today Tulsa hosts Incarnate Word at the Reynolds Center. The Women won their game pretty decisively yesterday morning. Todays contest is going to be at 2 p.m. hopefully you are not reading this from home and are at the arena.

Yesterday was not a great day for the American. UAB continues to lose as they dropped a close one to Clemson after leading almost the whole game. Minnesota toppled UTSA 102-76. Harvard beat Rice in Houston 89-76.

Memphis on the other hand beat Missouri on the road by 15. Memphis and SMU both have been impressive so far early in the season.

Todays Games

Small slate of games today. Eastern Illinois is at Loyola Chicago who has a 79 on the KenPom. The other double digit KenPom on the slate today is Omaha at North Texas.

AND ONE

Since the NET hasn’t come out yet I am now going to use the KenPom until the NET comes out and yes I will be monitoring when the NET comes out. That said, five of Tulsa’s OOC opponents have a KenPom better than Tulsa. Oral Roberts – 201, Loyola Chicago – 79, Oklahoma State – 82, Missouri State – 146 and New Mexico State - 200

GO TU!!!

📝 Larry Lewis GAME RECAP: Haggerty helps TU pull away from Jackson State

P.J. Haggerty's tenacity epitomized Tulsa's game Thursday night when shots weren't falling. A flurry of steals, layups and dunks made up for Tulsa's off shooting night. Haggerty had 20 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds to lead Tulsa to a 72-52 victory over Jackson State in front of 2,754 at the Reynolds Center.

🏀 Recruiting Ian Smikle makes it official, signs with TU

6-foot-9 and 230-pound big man Ian Smikle, who committed to Tulsa a month ago, signed his letter of intent with TU on the first day of the early basketball signing period. He chose the Hurricane over offers from Seton Hall, Jacksonville, Sam Houston State and others.

Another shot for Tulsa to break the losing streak. It's going to be another losing season, but would be nice to finish with two wins. Does Kirk Francis finally get the start?

RIP Steve Turnbo

Steve was the ultimate loyal TU alumnus. He was a TU baseball player during the 60's. Then he was Sports Information Director before starting his stellar career in Public Relations. He freely gave his time and money to his beloved alma mater.

I remember Steve volunteered his time to type the game play-by-play statistics at the football and basketball games when I was a student working in the press box in the 70's. He later became a major supporter of the Golden Hurricane Club. He became a member of the Board of Trustees and was eventually named a trustee emeritus.

The University and the City has lost one of the most effective supporters. Steve Turnbo was simply a great guy.
