The early signing period in December was a big success for the Tulsa football coaching staff, but they weren't done. TU added a number of additional D-1 transfers during the mid-year transfer window and then signed three more highly-recruited high school prospects on February 7 -- the first day of the regular signing period.

Story coming in the morning (2-6-24) on Tim Carpenter. He plans to sign on Wednesday, Feb. 7 -- the first day of the regular signing period. Tulsa could add up to two more.

TE Jewlyen Roberts, a prospect I've reported on a few times, will be one to watch. He visited TU on January 12, and also visited Pitt and Arizona State (last weekend). I think TU has a good shot.

A guy that I never mentioned -- because he was at TU about two days -- was Western Kentucky transfer Talique Allen. He was a last-second add at mid-semester, but things didn't work out with his plans for graduate work, so he decided to move on and was back in the portal on Jan. 18. With Tulsa still wanting to add a safety, they've recently been recruiting Union (and former Booker T. Washington) athlete Issac Covington. Really good athlete that played both safety and running back for Union last season. He could be a last-second add for this recruiting period.

Can anyone tell me if this is still the law for 18 year old males? I remember when I was getting ready to turn 18 I got a postcard in the mail and had to fill it out and mail it back. I know my son has not received a postcard, nor has he received any sort of reminder. I mean, they used to scare the hell out of you that they could throw you in jail if you didn't register with SS but now it seems way more like a law on the books that no one, including the Federal Gov't really care about.

Tulsa picked up a great “steal” when it signed Tim Carpenter out of Indiana.

“With Jackson off the board, Trotwood-Madison (Dayton, Ohio) quarterback Timothy Carpenter becomes arguably the most intriguing quarterback to watch. He has committed to Tulsa but only de-committed from Indiana in December.

“Landing Carpenter would be a significant win for Tulsa, as he has all the traits needed to be a quality collegiate starter.”

"Has tested well and shown he has the foot-speed to escape pressure and be a running threat," Allen Trieu of 247Sports wrote. "At the high school level though, he has shown he can stand in the pocket and make throws and then uses his feet when he needs to."

“It'll be interesting to see if any other programs try to swoop in and steal Carpenter away from Tulsa at the 11th hour.”

ITS GAMEDAY!!!!! Tulsa Men travel to Boca Raton to take on the Intermittent FAU Owls. Tulsa finally got them a road win last week against Rice. They also almost lost that game. Then followed that up with a win against Wichita State. Lets see if we can get two straight road wins!!!!

It is February people and with that means that we have a short month and are on the backside of the schedule. These wins and losses are about to start mattering for seeding in the tournament in March. As I posted previously with the American going to 14 teams we now have an extra day of tournament. They used to start on Thursday after the last games were played the Sunday previous, now there are two games on Wednesday. We just need to stay out of the bottom 4 to not play on Wednesday and in the top 4 to wait to play until Friday.

3-star Trotwood (OH) Madison quarterback Tim Carpenter committed to Tulsa on January 17. The former Indiana commit plans to sign with TU on February 7, bolstering an already impressive 2024 class for the Golden Hurricane.

So, Bryce Thompson took a really bad fall during the opening minutes of the OSU vs KU game tonight. Did anyone else see it?

Tulsa finished on a 15-2 run to pull away from Wichita State and notch a 79-68 victory on Wednesday.

We can talk Memphis with 4 players shooting 37% or more from the three which is probably leading the nation.
Jourdain 50%, Tomlin 40%, Jones 40%, and Mills 37%. They also shoot mostly in the 80%'s free throws which has never happened at Memphis. By far the best team Stansbury * has ever had at Memphis.

*Penny doesn't coach them, just stands up during the games.
