If this thread has evidenced anything to me it’s simply a confirmation of my perception that American conservatives are happy to be human rights ignoring hawks when it’s convenient for them to be because the conflict aligns with their agenda and they’re fighting a handful of terror cells mixed in with a bunch of half starved women and kids they can bomb, but when actual sacrifice and difficulty is encountered (like in Ukraine) they tuck their tail.

Some might call it strategic…. Others might call it a bully’s cowardice.
Where was this liberal courage when Putin took the Crimea and turned Syria into a puppet with a warm water Naval base?

You lost me when you described 30k-40k soldiers as a “handful of terror cells”. Aside from your gross mischaracterization, I would hope most reasonable people would hope for peace in Gaza as well as Ukraine.

Does anyone here ever check in with Israeli press to see the wide range of views that Israelis hold about Netanyahu's policies? Here's an example of an editorial piece from Haaretz the oldest daily in the country. Haaretz is liberal, highly respected and its editorial page reflects views and voices that we don't see in the US.

Literally all the American press does is try to highlight those voices

Over 60% were conservative, and 11% liberal last election. I'm sure that this war has swayed some minds, but I doubt that many. I doubt those views are held by more than a 25% of the population. Every country has liberals and conservatives, even beloved China. It's just a matter of percentages.

Jenks won the ship last year and were the best team in the regular season this year. They certainly were the most talented team. Coach isn’t great but they’ve won a lot of games over the past two years. Jenks probably has the number of state titles they deserve over the last two seasons … one.
He's only been the coach this year though. Would they have won last year with him at the helm?

Jenks girls coach is in a little over his head. The officials in the Jenks girls' game were horrible. Still could have won.

Possible Social Security Fix

Update on Social Security + Medicare Trust Funds. Unless we start doing something about SS, we will be screwing over our kids big time. Whatever we do, the earlier the better.

"The trustees of Social Security and Medicare — who include the Cabinet secretaries of labor, health and human services, and the Treasury, as well as the Social Security commissioner — said Monday that their forecast for the Social Security trust fund was mostly the same as last year: It will run out in 2033, at which point retirees will see their benefits cut by 21 percent. (The disability trust fund, which is separate, will be able to cover benefits through 2098, one year later than in last year’s report. If the two funds were to be combined, the expiration date would be pushed to 2035.)

But the trustees upgraded their outlook for the trust fund that pays for Medicare hospital benefits, projecting that it has enough money to cover full benefits until 2036, five years longer than forecast last year. After that, hospital coverage would be cut by 11 percent." WaPost

TU’s new AD must be a dynamic fundraiser

The last few weeks we have seen several good TU football and basketball players take the NIL $ from other schools & leave. During these same few weeks, TU has not signed anyone to replace these good players. This lets me know TU is not competitive in NIL funds today.

If the TU administration doesn’t respond to their football & basketball rosters being purchased one player at a time, I have lost hope for TU’s athletic future. They need to be as angry about this as the fans are.

TU needs to start by hiring a new athletic director who is very skilled and very focused on fundraising. Without a competitive NIL budget, every spring we will see TU’s best football & basketball players leaving. That’s unsustainable for winning football or basketball.
