Not really, but he will be given at least another year. We only have a real chance of getting 6 wins because the league is really crappy. I think getting older might solve some of the problems. I think between Francis & Carpenter, we have a decent QB on the roster. I think he needs the young OL to grow up, and bring in a fuller roster of OL next year, with a few better transfers(not easy in today's environment w/out nil)

I think he needs to let our very young DB's grow up, and ditch several of them in the offseason. It really pisses me off that the DC we had left us in the learch, going to Indiana at the last minute. I think if Wilson thinks he can get a better DC then he should do so, but not just fire the one we've got to get one that is the same or worse. We really have a decent DL, which is an amazing recruiting job. I hope nobody goes after DB Green next year.

I think we won't have a decent coaching pool to pick from if we can Wilson after year 2, and I think we should use next year to gauge whether this year was caused by a young team, as much or more than Wilson's coaching ability. I think we should seriously be having this conversation after game 7 next year. I think that the reaction after this game is not serious and is a knee jerk reaction.
When I first read this, I thought you meant that KW getting a year older might help. I was like, what?? But I get it now. I don't see how we could give KW less than 3 years for the reasons you and others mention in your other posts.

We are not anywhere near Burns level. Now is the product on the field ass? Yes. Is coaching ass? Yes. BUT the program/athletic department overall is in a much better place than it was during the burns era. That doesn’t mean it’s good, but we’re not rock bottom like we were then.

Do not misconstrue what I’m saying as things are good… because they aren’t.
Nobody who actually lived through the Burns era could say this is as bad as we were then.

Burns Wasn't THAT Bad

I was covering TU for the Oklahoman when Burns was here. He actually had a relatively good first season, all things considered. His 5-7 record in 2000 was the best record by TU since 1991.

It was interesting that after 9-11 in 2001, he won 1 game in two years. When he gave Blankenship the quick hook somewhat early in the year in favor of another Union grad, Tyler Gooch, everything fell apart. One noteworthy assistant under Burns later told me me about the toxic work environment under Burns for the assistant coaches.

2024-2025 Men's Schedule

I know people are trying to find Haggerty’s flaws now that he’s on a competing team but he has incredible touch on his shot. Whether from close in or out at the foul line he would put them up and it was nothing but net. Refs not withstanding we’ll have to scheme well to shut him down when we play Memphis.
When he was here we generally ignored his flaws, and now that he's not, we generally ignore his good points. Acknowledge both!

Pro-Choice Violence

there is no federal law. ie SCOTUS
Because it hasn't been written yet. Scotus determined the right to an abortion was to be determined by the states, in the confines of the law being addressed in Roe V Wade. They did not address and/or determine if a minimum requirement for abortion could be set up by the federal government, and then the states could equal or lessen that requirement. That is a very specific delineation that has not been defined by the court, because it will not be defined by Scotus, until there is a law being enacted which brings this question before them. Scotus knocked down the law that existed. They did not knock down the law that could be written and passed. They are two different questions, and Scotus hasn't answered one of the specific questions yet.

Those were the same concerns Konkol had with him on our team. If you remember the UALR game he went into defensive players trying to draw a foul and the refs wouldn’t buy it. We have to hope the officials use that as points of emphasis this year or he will score 30 running into his man and throwing the ball toward the goal and shoot 25 free throws. Refs are getting smarter about watching the offensive guy doing the pushing and creating the contact.

Haggerty was selected as AAC pre season player of the year by Lindy’s magazine. It all depends on two things. 1. How the refs call his instituting fouls and 2. if he develops a better three point shot. He was not nearly as good as our Steve Harris.

🏈 Recruiting Official visitors expected at the Army game

Not sure how many yet but should have more info as the weekend nears. UTEP commit Maddox Huber has already confirmed he will be in town for an official. He was being recruited by Ryan Stanchek, who left TU to be OL coach at UTEP. He attended a TU camp in June and is now being recruited by OL Coach Greg Frey.

"I also like Coach Frey and his way of coaching," Huber said earlier today.

Jaquise Martin and Donnell Gee may be visiting as well.

Army opens as 8 point favorites.

That's about right. I'm thinking the final score is something like Army 38 Tulsa 17. Army is way more efficient on offense that UNT is and this is an Army offense that can throw the ball not as a gimmick but as a part of the regular offense. We've never been good against the option and now our undisciplined, untalented secondary has to try to not get sucked down on the play action and leave the WRs or TE wide open. Well, we saw bad teams like Ark State and LaTech take advantage of that. Army is light years ahead of that.
There's always Coney Island as a reward after the 3rd quarter . Army is going to take Tulsa's
players to the woodshed just like Navy and if Kirk Francis keeps throwing off his back foot replace him with Cardell
or Cooper Legas . Francis played scared against OSU and did nothing against North Texas ...I
say give him four series and if he is ineffective it's pine time .
