This Post should determine the Men's Basketball Record for Next year.

As many of you know it has become imperative that TU sustains a hefty Men's basketball NIL allocation to compete with the other AAC teams. Currently we are in a "catch up" situation compared to some teams that are recruiting the same athletes . Every recruit is asking what our NIL payments are ! If we can't compete in the NIL with SMU, Wichita and North Texas, we will lose our best athletes to them. I am listing the link here for all TU basketball fans to donate any amount you can. Please click under Men's basketball if that is your interest. Don't come on here and complain if you don't donate and you don't like our signees. Unfortunately this is the most important project in TU basketball history (urgent over the next few weeks) and will define our next several years. I have contributed by using the "custom" button which will allow one time tax deductible donations, but you can sign up for annual tax-deductible donations. This should not replace your GHC donation which is still needed for quality athletic programs. Thank you all. Let's get back to Championship Men's Basketball.

Fourth Annual Bracket Challenge

ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR!!

The Fourth Annual Bracket Challenge is upon us. By popular demand there is now a prize involved with this Bracket Challenge. Since there is something of worth available to the winner only, there are some rules with this. These rules are non-negotiable. To be eligible for the prize you must satisfy all of the requirements. I know that I cant make it too secure but I do what I can.

So now what is the Prize? The Prize is worth $10 dollars. This can be done in an electronic payment or a gift card. This is to make it friendly and something to shoot for. I also didn’t take people to raise so it’s a low amount. Lol.

Rules:

1.You are only allowed one bracket entry.
2. Your bracket name must be your handle on ITS. IF I cannot find the (@name) then your bracket is ineligible.
3. I will lock entries at 10 am on the first day of the round of 64.
4. The delivery of the prize will be up to the winner. They will have a choice of the following:
a. Sent via VENMO or Zelle only. I don’t Cash App, Apple Pay, or any others.
b. Gift card of your choice but I must be able to do an electronic Gift Card to be sent to
your email address.
c. I will leave this option open if someone has a good idea.

Hurricane Impact NIL website launches

Media release...

Hurricane Impact Launches Official Website

TULSA, Okla. –– Hurricane Impact, Inc.,
an independent Oklahoma 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, is one of three NIL platforms that has been established to benefit student-athletes at The University of Tulsa.

Hurricane Impact has launched their official website, HurricaneImpact.org. Those interested in participating in the Hurricane Impact fund can go online at https://www.hurricaneimpact.org/. Hurricane Impact was formed to solicit financial support from individuals and corporations wishing to support student-athletes across all sports who are attending The University of Tulsa.

For additional information on Hurricane Impact, executive director David Fuess can be reached at 817.896.8650 or dfuess@outlook.com.

An additional NIL initiative, GHSP Allied NIL provides corporate sponsors with the opportunity to include Tulsa intellectual property (marks and logos) in their NIL deals with student-athletes. LEARFIELD, which does not represent student-athletes, manages its Allied NIL initiative directly with sponsors through its local Golden Hurricane Sports Properties team. When any third-party integration is needed for student-athlete connections, the recommended marketplace is opendorse.com/tulsa-goldenhurricane

Another opportunity to benefit student-athletes is through the Tulsa Academic Enhancement Award, which provides additional aid to TU student-athletes for academic and living expenses not covered by their university scholarship. Awards are given based on academic achievement. Each student-athlete is eligible for a maximum of $8,000 per calendar year through the Tulsa Academic Enhancement Award. Gifts given to the Tulsa Academic Enhancement Award are eligible for Golden Hurricane Champions Fund benefits and may be tax deductible. Donors should consult a tax advisor for guidance on what is tax deductible). Those interested in participating in the Tulsa Academic Enhancement should contact Pooh Williamson at pooh-williamson@utulsa.edu.

TU does not receive any financial benefit from any NIL platform. NCAA rules require that universities advise the student-athletes to ensure an equitable and ethical process.

Jarred Hall at the Allen Iverson Tennessee Showcase 2023

I have been very curious about one of our top recruits, Jarred Hall. He was selected to play in the Allen Iverson Tennessee Showcase, and I was excited to watch the game. Unfortunately, the marketing and advertising for this tournament were beyond bad. There was virtually zero advertising for the event on YouTube, Twitter, or other social media platforms, and I am not even sure AI was at the game.

The game was broadcast on the BallerTv and in my opinion at an outrageous cost of around $100 bucks. No thank you, sir.

At any rate, I found this video of the game on YouTube today for free. :) Jarred Hall enters the game around the 6-minute mark.

Cycle of despair, basketball edition

Saw this with my other hometown team. The Gophers are one of the few teams that's almost as miserably bad as us, going 9-22 and 2-17 in conference. Their 2 best players are in the portal. This is the hard thing with the simplistic message board "it's the coach" vs "it's the talent". In reality, it's a big casserole that makes a team good or bad and it's hard to unfurl sometimes where the problem is, or the problem changes. Coaching decisions are like pornography, you know it when you see it, even if the "problem" seems to change. Johnson at MN probably has another season but it's odds are long with the turnover. Next year will be pretty decisive for Konkol. He needs to lay a strong foundation for year 3. If he's kind of starting over again after next year, it'll be tough.

The Holland Hall Cascia Hall Billion Dollar Tax Cut

The legislature is about to hand the private school families 100s of millions of dollars every year so that they can go on more ski trips and beach vacations. Well done ding dongs.

I want to congratulate the legislature on their pure utter give away. These people are utter fools.
