Jaleel Wheeler

Does anyone know what he's up to? I just went to Mack's Wings for lunch and there was a Tulsa police officer in there with his partner, name tag had J Wheeler on it, and it looked like him (minus the crazy hair he had when he was playing) and the height was right. In looking at his Bio photo from the TU website, I'm leaning that this police officer was him. There are too many coincidences for it to not be him.

Ranking of Top TU Point Guards since 1980 in Assist/Turnover Ratios

Fixing immigration

Congress continues to ignore creating new immigration legislation to address problems at the border. Until the legislation is changed, the ability of the President or governors is insufficient to fix or even improve the situation. The last major reform was over 40 years ago although small restrictive changes have been made since. Meanwhile US businesses are pushing to allow increased immigration to help fill the 10 million. Bush and Obama both pushed new legislation and there have been vagarious bipartisan bills that passed in the Senate, but those bills have stalled in the House. Here's the latest. If governors want changes at the border, they should be putting pressure on their legislators in Congress to get something done. Sending buses to DC is fun, but won't fix anything until Congress acts. For some reason McCarthy has promised that no new immigration bill will be voted on in the House in the next two years if he becomes Speaker. Why, so he can hammer at the President who doesn't have the power to fix the situatiion?

Congress needs to get off its butt.

Todays games

Only one other AAC game today when UCF travels down the road to Tampa to take on the Bulls.
Tow other games of note. Number 9 NET Iowa St. travels to Stoolwater this afternoon. Florida Atlantic tries to maintain their NET in El Paso taking on UTEP.
Last game of mention where North Texas and UAB, who have similar NET’s, faceoff at 3 p.m. This could be one of those really close games.

GAMEDAY!!

TU Men are hosting the SMOOOO at home today. The two bottom teams in the conference going back at it. Tulsa got rode out of the gym in Dallas. Hopefully we see the growth and we can run them out of our gym.

Women won a road game at Temple and because it was so close at the end during a bad second half the women dropped a spot in the NET Rankings. Memphis, Tulane and South Florida are the only teams ahead of the women in the NET. The women play Tulane Saturday and then host USF on Wednesday. This is an important week for the women.

Todays games

Two other American games today and Bedlam tonight when Oklahoma travels to Stoolwater.

And One

Antoine Davis of Detroit Mercy set the NCAA record for 3 pointers, hitting 11 3 pointers in a game to get him to 513 for a career eclipsing the 509 set by Fletcher Magee of Wofford. Davis was 5-14 against Tulsa from 3 but was the second highest scorer in that game at 23 points behind Gerald Liddell with 27 points.

Tim Dalger's hustle and energy epitomized the entire Tulsa team effort Saturday night, and were pivotal in TU finally breaking through for a much deserved win over a quality Tulane team. Dalger had 15 points and 13 rebounds, including key ones down the stretch, as Tulsa pulled out a 81-79 overtime win against Tulane in front of a crowd of 7,071 at the Reynolds center.
