We just closed the book on another season. Close games that were winnable were:

1.Charlotte…Their coach looked just like Jr. Sample on the sideline. BR549 with that sleeveless shirt.
2. North Texas.
3. Tulane

Just a few plays different.

Rivals has us at 60 in team rankings but 247 has us at 113. Crazy difference.

Bad refs, bad broadcast, bad defense, too many turnovers, bad free throws.

I hate this school so much.

The call to Haggerty was nice.

Our defense has to get better.

Bad officiating. Whoever didn’t cal the late hit needs to be removed from officiating forever. That was garbage. The ECU guy should sit out the first game next year.

Starting for Commanders today

We got beat down. They were almost 50% from 3 point range.

Guy who took over after KW got the hook yesterday. He had 4 great (by Indiana standards) seasons to start and then went 9-27 in the next 3 years. That place is a football graveyard.

1. Our 3 point percentage is only 27% against very weak teams.
2. Free throw % is over 80 % if you remove Hall and C. Williams who shoot less than 50%.
3. Three point %, Garcia 23.8%, C. Williams (a Coley type 14%), P.J. 23%, Hall 25%. Cobe is best at 34%.
4. Field Goal % Archie leads team at 53.6%, Haggerty low at 37%.
5. Turnovers- Cobe leads with 3.64 per game ( he averaged 3.60 TO per game at La Tech.) Archie 1.0 turnovers per game.
6. Turnovers per minute played- Cobe 1 turnover per 8 minutes, Archie 1 turnover per 13 minutes.
7. Steals- Haggerty and Cobe 13 and 15.
8. Blocks- Garcia with 8.
9. Defense much better on perimeter, but very weak inside- no stats to show that.
10. Still so much more fun to watch than last year and I bet all these stats will improve markedly as the season progresses.

Out at Houston , I heard Auburn has an OC that would be great for that job !

This is our 10th season in the AAC. We won 4 games and 2 conference games. In our 10 seasons, we've won 4 or fewer games 5 times and 2 or fewer conference games 5 times. So this is a perfectly average season for us. Not bad I guess for a new coach trying to build something?

His boss at Indiana got fired. This was a weird deal, but I thought it was worth bringing up again.

Tied at half 30-30. Down by 8 after first quarter. Shots started falling in 2nd.

Great comeback from down by 13 early in 2nd QTR to tie at half and take control in second half for a 10 point win.

Come back to win in overtime.UAPB had a 6’6” girl. Good move by Nelp switching to zone and surrounding her. Also Young played big minutes. Poindexter had 32 and Crawford 19. Career high for Poindexter

ITS GAME DAY

As you can see I am now almost over my illness as I am able to communicate with the masses. Today Tulsa men host South Carolina State and the Reynolds center. They are a KenPom 343 so this should be an easy double digit win. This easy schedule is giving these guys time to gel. We will need it come Conference play.

Todays Games

We have 10 games today. New Orleans visits the struggling Cowboys this evening. Okie state should beat these guys but if they don’t then they are in for a long season. UCF will see Charlotte in the finals of the Jacksonville Classic. Charlotte took down George Mason yesterday. Abilene Christian who took down the Pokes will visit Missouri State. Lastly we will have SMU and West Virginia in the Fort Meyers Tip off.

AND ONE

Its that time of season that COVID, FLU and RSV are starting to Ramp up. My wife just got over a bout of COVID and I got sick but wasn’t COVID. So start looking into your FLU shots and COVID shots. IF you don’t want them then don’t get them. Your body, Your Choice.
