SLP trying to hire USC coach

I don't know anything about the USC guy but this feels like our hiring Frank. Am I wrong? I hope I'm not wrong. I love watching SLP waste vast amounts of money for below average results. It's a bold strategy, hire a guy who was average at best in a weaker conference.

SMU targeting USC's Andy Enfield for coaching job, sources say

The truth can be harsh: Andy Enfield should be coaching for his job right now at USC

AAC TOURNAMENT

Wichita state beat rice today 88-81 in the first game. Game 2 has UTSA versus Temple starting now or very soon. This evening the women’s championship game between Rice and East Carolina will determine most likely the Americans only bid.

Local RB

Not sure where to put this...over the summer several Victory Christian players were in attendance at a TU football camp. One was Eric Peterson, III. He's a WR/CB. He's on the smaller side so I don't know how he projects at the next level. He's a Jr a VC. He's short and not likely to get to even 5'10 or so knowing family history.

He's not the Peterson in that family TU needs to be watching. His little brother Caleb is an 8th grade running back at Holland Hall who, dare I say, might be the closest thing to the second coming of Barry Sanders that we've seen in a long time. Extremely fast....think Tyreek Hill fast and I'm not exaggerating, and super shifty like Sanders. He literally made a kid lose his shoe in a game vs Cascia Hall Tuesday night. My guess is if he remains at Holland Hall for HS, he will play varsity as a 9th grader.

Lawton (OK) Eisenhower running back Rashaud Hurt has been a bit under the radar due to an injury in his junior season, but it didn’t keep Tulsa coaches from seeking him out.

BB Recruiting

6-6 WF Jeff Nwankwo of Cowley CC helped lead his team to a win in the National tourney yesterday in Hutchinson, KS. Nwankwo had 21 pts and 13 rbs. I watched most of it on ESPN+. They play again today at 5pm and the game will also be aired in ESPN+ for anyone wanting to watch.

His recruitment has heated up and will get hotter if they continue to advance in the tourney. Kansas is now recruiting him. He recently picked up offers from Arizona State and Cal.

He was also recently named MVP of the Jayhawk Conference and is ranked as the #7 juco in the nation. He will be a hard one to sign for TU.

🏈 Recruiting TU one of several offers for 2025 Ridge Point QB

2025 quarterback Austin Carlisle of Missouri City (TX) Ridge Point has been making waves on the camp circuit this spring. He picked up an offer from Tulsa back in January and then traveled to the TU campus to watch spring practice earlier this month.

NWSL

So two local Tulsa girls (and probably more) are playing in the NWSL right now. Taylor Malham is featuring at left full back for the Chicago Red Stars who are off to a 2-0 start. She is lucky to be playing in front of USWNT starting GK Alyssa Naeher. Parker Goins is playing for Racing Louisville and is usually the sub of choice to come in at the striker position each game. They have drawn each of their 1st two games.

I'm sure there are others from OK on NWSL rosters but these are the only two I watched play HS soccer in OK and they were part of one of the best senior classes to ever come out of a single HS. 7-8 went on to play D1.
