The PAC is Back

Unofficial reports are saying that the Air Force is moving to the American. I am sure if the PAC12 comes calling to the American it will try to pull 4 teams to get them to 10. If they do I believe the top 4 are

Memphis
Tulane
South Florida
North Texas or UTSA (market reasons)

I feel Tulsa would fall behind Charlotte and UAB in the pecking order. We haven’t been relevant in a while. We are the only school in Oklahoma that could get them into that market but figure Texas and San Antonio would look better to them

Practice

Just wondered if anyone has ventured to the men’s basketball practice since Labor Day. If so, how
do they look? Any conclusions about how this team compares to last year’s team?
We may be well into our non-conference schedule before we get much of a feel for how this '24-'25 team
compares to the '23-'24 team....

On the pessimistic side, it would appear from their histories that there aren't many double digit scorers
among the newcomers....Odom and who else? ....Maybe Carrington?

On the positive side, there are returners with potential: Archie, Garcia, (Willis-almost for sure), look to be
at/near double digit scorers, and Reed could also be close....

One advantage the team at hand does have is the potential for the scoring to be more distributed than
the previous team....Sometimes it appeared that when most of our offense and ball handling rested with
our starting guards, it made us more predictable and easier to defend.....There were times, however, when
the guards appeared to be the only viable option....

Overall, again going on individual histories, it does appear that the coming team will be better defensively..
However, have they done enough to get their defense in the paint up to a satisfactory level? That will be a
huge determinant in measuring our team's ability to really be improved, and move up the conference
standings a notch or two....

GO TU!!

FC Tulsa

Snatched a draw from the jaws of victory last night vs Las Vegas Lights. Tulsa actually played well for most of the game, better MF possession than I've seen from them in a while and it led to nice build up in the attack. A lot of chances from deep runs up the sides and then slinging some crosses in.

The GA was a string of poor defensive decisions and whiffed tackles. Unfortunate as an FC Tulsa win would have put them 5 pts clear of Orange County in the last playoff spot with a game in hand. Instead they're 3 pts up.
I watched it on espn+.

Agree wholeheartedly with your analysis. Dahm gave the shooter lots of room to just crank up and launch. He did not close on the shooter. Reminded me a bit of USA defense vs Canada.
