I wouldn't be so quick to say that all was on Pritchard, on the not playing. The coach and he may have had a knock down drag out discussion about Pritchard and Konkol both being upset with the situation. That may have led to a mutually decided cooling off period, in which Pritchard didn't play. Definitely not blaming him entirely, but I was very disappointed in his in ability to finish the season. I know that he was disappointed with the season, we all were, but there's something about sticking with your brothers that he didn't do, which really upset me. 😕
I agree with mmckell, you got to finish the season. Even if they had it out, the coach is still the leader of the team. He still has final say. You still want to leave then that is fine but you need to finish the season.
Even if both Konkol & Pritchard decided the difficulties occurring on the court and during practice made it a mutual decision between Konkol & Pritchard? We don't know how much volatility was going on in practice & between the coaches & players. Pritchard may not have had a choice after that conversation. I don't feel comfortable making statements about that, not having been at practices in the latter half of season.
There may have been some tension between a couple of players. Another reason for the drop off at the end. They are gone now thank goodness.

Hopefully we start getting some commits soon. Gonna need some practice time to get acquainted with each other since we are putting together a brand new team.
If my thoughts are correct, there are only two players on the team currently on campus. Seals and McWright playing a lot of one on one games.
Have to wait till they are out of school. They hopefully are still going to class until late May.

I'm surprised I haven't heard about Griffin getting some interest.
Still very early in the process. I think we have some visits coming up soon. Why would anyone be surprised about Griffin? He plays zero defense and is useless unless he happens to be on fire.
Maybe so. The new players usually come in around the first part of June, depending on when the first summer session starts. Summer is a great time for athletes to add easier hours of credit.

Yes Summer session here begins May 15 so we might have someone in for that. Sometimes a credit is needed that wouldn't transfer.
Some have mentioned that Arkansas seems to be recruiting all the transfer portal. I live in Northwest Arkansas now and asked a friend about it. He said that it's a recruiting strategy. It's more for intel than interest. They are trying to gauge how interested other teams are and throw off the competition. There is no way you can tell what players Arkansas is actually interested in because it seems like they want all of them. You heard it here... your Northwest Arkansas source.
The transfer portal is to basketball what the PSAT is to colleges...my son has gotten admissions recruitment flyers and letters and calls from schools coast to coast. I think the strategy for both is to reach out and let them know you're interested to see if you can get on their radar in hopes you can get them to visit. Konkol seems to be able to land kids if he can get them on campus...and there's literally no expense or cost to the coaches to give the kid a call, say they're interested in him coming to U of Wherever, etc. outside of a few minutes time. We've seen kids in the portal and their schools that have contacted said player list at like 80 schools or so ranging from Utah Valley all the way to North Carolina. And you can't land a kid if you don't reach out first. I don't think many of us thought TU would ever have a shot at Barnes out of Michigan, but Konkol convinced him to visit, had a plan in place for him...and boom...TU is way ahead in terms of talent than they were last year.

That approach is not against any rules, but it feels slimy. Just seems that a coach is only as good as his word. If they’re shotgun offering everyone, that just feels disingenuous and manipulative. I’m hoping the recruits have been made aware of their tactic.

If I remember correctly before the pandemic if a player transferred they had to sit out a year unless they went out of D1. I believe they suspended that during the pandemic and that is when the transfer portal blew up. Now they are talking about tightening the rules starting with football. I posted the article in the football page of the board.
