ITS GAMEDAY!!!! The Ramblers of Loyola Chicago visit the Reynolds Center for an 7:30 tip. This will be on ESPN+ but if you are in the Tulsa area, show up.

Tulsa has lost two in a row and both were Away games. Lets get back on the winning side of things. Loyola Chicago is a NET 125 so a win today will improve our NET.

Todays Games

Biggest game on the board other than TU is Florida Atlantic taking on Illinois in the Jimmy V Classic in New York City. This game is at 5:30 on ESPN

Boise State hosts North Texas and that will be on the Mountain West Network

Oklahoma State visits Southern Illinois on CBSSN

This one blew me away. I was running down the schedule and I saw something interesting. McNeese is hosting The Mississippi University for Women. I was like this has got to be a typo. Nope it is not a typo. They are a Division III school and they were founded in 1884 and have been coeducational since 1982.

This is like Texas Women's University in Denton. It's also coed as I have a male friend who went to school there b/c apparently they have an excellent physical therapy program.
 
Middle Tennessee is up 66-61 on Missouri state with just over 2 minutes left to play in the game
 
with 3 minutes into the second half McNeese is beating the Mississippi University for Women 50-9
 
26 seconds left in the half boise state is up on North Texas 30-29

OSU and SIU are tied up at 32 with 2:20 left in the half

Missouri State game is going to be a tough one for us. They're very good. MTSU is probably the odds on favorite to win CUSA and is also very good. And MTSU had a pretty big lead at one point.

Love hearing that OSU is losing. And they're losing to teams that are on the schedule because they thought they'd be easy wins for a Big XII team (Abilene Christian, St. Bonaventure, Southern Illinois). They got hammered by Creighton and they lost to a bad Notre Dame team. 3-5. And there is a 50/50 chance they lose the next 3 too even though they probably penciled all 3 in as wins. If we play like we did last night, good chance we win. ORU can beat them with their shooting, and don't sell Wofford short. Usually a well coached team that can shoot. Wofford is coming off a win on Saturday @ Middle Tennessee who we've already discussed is a good team. (Wofford has also been hammered by Tennessee and VaTech though).

I have no idea what will happen in our game with them. I don't expect us to make 14 threes again, but I don't think OSU has the shooters to hurt us outside like ORU and Loyola did. It'll be interesting.

No Mike Boynton team pencils in wins against anyone. There will be as many OSU fans cheering for Tulsa in the game this weekend as OSU.
 
Great win yesterday. Tulsa moved up to 160 on the NET and Loyola Chicago took a tumble to 143.

Middle Tenn St's net is #277 and KenPom is #226. They have lost to teams like Wofford and Western Carolina. They are 5-5. They aren't going to win CUSA. Liberty and La Tech are the contenders. That was a bad loss for Missouri St.

The KenPom seems to be closer to a point in the season, where it is evening out with the Net. We are #185 in the KP after the win over Loyola.

Just an effort to run out the clock on Will Wade's 10-game suspension. I'm sure some of the D1 contracts were already in place, but they played Biblical Studies College, Champion Christian, and LeTorneau University in a 5-day span. All of those games counted towards the suspension.

Had to work late so I didn’t report during the evening like normal. Here was last night’s results

Houston put Rice back in the cooker beating them 75-39
Temple beat Bloomsburg 85-55
Memphis had to go to Overtime to edge out VCU 85-80
Arizona State survived SMU 76-74

Only one game today with Little Rock visiting Central Arkansas.

There is no games that I track for tomorrow. I am also heading down this weekend to Norfolk to watch my sons Winter Concert with the Old Dominion Symphony Orchestra. I will post when available.

Even though I was expecting it, I was cringing and laughing that we scored the 340th weakest schedule out of 350ish teams.
