ITS GAMEDAY!!!! The Tulsa men host Rice. Tulsa edged out Rice In Houston when they gave up a big lead towards the end of the game and had a controversial ending that sent the Rice coach chasing the officials into the tunnel. Rice currently occupies the 10th seed in the Conference Tournament while Tulsa dropped to the 11th Seed that plays on Wednesday. Hopefully we can right the ship and get a win and out of the bottom 4. Rice is 3-8 in conference and Tulsa is 3-9.

AND ONE

As you probably already know, Detroit Mercy, a team we played last year, got their first win ending a 27-game losing streak by beating handily IUPUI 81-66 on Wednesday night. That might not be the interesting thing about that. What is even better is they have the BEST FAN around. One fan stormed the court in that win. ONE FAN! That was the best thing I have heard all week.

Game yesterday afternoon was a lot closer than what we wanted it to be. The overtime was exactly what we wanted. Pooh mentioned that whoever scores first in OT wins 70 percent of the time. We blew them out in Overtime just like FAU blew out WSU in overtime a couple weeks ago. Crazy really. Rice has dropped to a Q4 for both home and away.

The rest of the scores from yesterday.

Oklahoma State over BYU 93-83
Little Rock beat Southern Indiana 80-62
Oral Roberts lost to North Dakota 78-65 (ORU might just stay as a Q4 loss now)

USF first sellout in 20 years. Leading FAU 46-29. Lunardi says if USF goes 17-1 in conference and 27-6 and loses championship game they are out in favor of a team in the Big 12 sub .500 in conference.

They are a legitimate top 25 team. It will be a travesty if the committee omits them due to the very early losses.
Well they are currently up by 21. They beat Tulsa by 19 and people were calling for konkols head. Maybe Dusty May needs to be canned at the end of this game.

It will be wrong if they are left out. They did get votes in the poll and this will will help that out

I think Lunardi is full of it. They pull that off & I think they are in.

USF needs to get their NET in the low 60s imo. Very soft OOC schedule where they performed poorly is dragging them down. Still think 17-1 and conference finals gets that NET to a range where they get an at large.

They won't finish 17-1. FAU will beat them at home, at a minimum.

USF has also had a weaker conference schedule. They sure are not showing it against FAU though.

The league is trying to get USF in the conversation with the homer ref's. Several fouls reversed or not called on USF recently.

Don't see that very often, in motion foul off the ball, count the three ptr, and take two foul shots after, for FAU.

I thought that FAU played USF at home, my mistake. It was Memphis that plays FAU late, then plays FAU at home the last game.

USF is in the drivers seat for the RS championship. But they play @Charlotte which is the only team that might catch them. If Charlotte gets a win, I don't know what the tie breaker is since they would split their two games and they both beat FAU. I'm guessing their record against SMU/UAB. Charlotte would hope it's UAB, and USF would hope it's SMU, that finishes ahead of the other. Charlotte would have a better chance if it comes to UAB finishing ahead of SMU.

If East Carolina finishes out a game they are leading against Tulane, Tulane falls into a tie with us. Finishing in 9th ahead of Tulane, and behind E Carolina is about the best we can do if that happens. If Tulane pulls out the win, then we have a slim, but possible chance of pulling into 8th place, ahead of Tulane & E Carolina. I'm figuring we have a better chance of finishing in 9th, no matter how this game comes out.

I think there are 7 teams that can win the AAC tournament. Never seen it so open. Best tournament in years. Just wish we were fully there this year. Maybe next year.

FAU
Charlotte
Memphis
UAB
North Texas
South Florida
SMU

Well if Tulane wins we are still in 10th because we are tied with them and they beat us. I don’t mind being 10th as long as we can have an opponent that is equal to us.

That won't last long. Look at Tulane's closing schedule. Brutal. If E Carolina wins, and we can find two more wins, we will in all likelihood be in 9th place. Tulane probably only has one win against Wichita St in their final game.

Ahhh yep

Might it not be better to be one of the last 4 so we have a chance to play two games and at least break even? It looks likely a one and done if not in the bottom four. Just being realistic ........

On a neutral court I think we have a shot at beating E Carolina. Don't think we're gonna finish out at anything other than 9 or 10. Rice would have to make up 2 games on us for us to close out behind them. But what I'm hoping for is Memphis falls to #8 seed. Then we might get Memphis on a neutral court. Would love to close out Memphis' season.

Would love for Memphis and us to finish out #7/#10 or #8/#9.

Tulsa and Tulane are tied. Tulane holds the tie breaker. We are 3 games behind ECU. That might be a hill that is too hard to climb for us. We have a path to the 9th seed. We also have a path to the 14th seed lol

If you win that first game in the tournament it sometimes really fires up your team. I never liked the bye and having to play a team that won the first round........e.g. Tulsa vs Houston 1982 NCAA. And Houston winning four games at the 2010 BOK Conference USA tournament as a 7 seed.
