With saturday's win vs USF, TU's 9-0 start in conference play eclipses their previous best start of 8-0, set during the 1984-85 season.

What is the best start in school history? Calling Chad Bonham!

Yes, 1969 is the best start to conference play we've had in our history, started 9-0. So with a win Thursday this season will be the best start ever.

Bruce also mentioned the 1919 year as the longest something, I want to say it was longest winning streak, the team finished 16-3 that season but that was back when they played HS teams and YMCAs.

Probably longest winning streak, which I was able to find in the TU fact book.

Most consecutive games won: 16 (Jan. 17, 1920 - Mar. 13, 1920)

Most consecutive games won (modern era): Nov. 26, 1983 - Jan. 14, 1984)

The 1983-84 team started the season 15-0, but against a rather soft schedule:

Oral Roberts (W 87 - 81)
MCC
Alabama State (W 79 - 72)
SWAC
Long Island University (W 126 - 80)
ECAC
San Diego State (W 91-80)
WAC
Oklahoma State (W 91-79)
Big 8
Pepperdine (W 102 - 70)
WCC
Southern (W 70 - 68)
SWAC
West Texas State (W 121 - 82)
MVC
Drake (W 91 - 79)
MVC
Bradley (W 82 - 69)
MVC
Oral Roberts (W 84 - 78)
MCC
West Texas State (W 99 - 93)
MVC
Illinois State (L 76 - 79)
MVC

The 1983-84 Illinois State handed TU 2 of their 3 regular season losse and was the only NCAA tournament team TU would face during the regular season season.

WIth such a soft schedule, TU still managed to land a #4 seed and #9 ranking heading into the NCAA tourney.
