EOH Podcast--Track & Cross Country Head Coach Steve Gulley

Hey--I know FB gets going tomorrow night, but this guy is a stud. Steve Gulley is featured on the latest edition of Eye of the Hurricane Podcast as his cross country teams open at Stillwater this Friday ranked #21 on men's side. His teams have finished in the top ten in the nation four straight years, something not done at TU on the men's side ever, and only accomplished by the great WGolf teams of the 80s.

📝 Larry Lewis Electric athlete Braylin Presley should stand out for Tulsa offense

Saying someone is going to be the next great player before they've played a down at a school may be a little premature, to say the least. However, in the case of Braylin Presley, the chance to be great at TU is certainly there. The electric Presley, a Bixby grad and OSU transfer, is going to get the opportunity to show what he can do this season for the Golden Hurricane.

Tailgate Invitation

If you are looking for a tailgate spot, everyone is welcome to join our group. We are located on Chapman Commons #6, which is on the northeast side of Commons, look for the Kolker Tailgate sign.

This Thursday we will not set up our tent, since it will be an abbreviated time (I really hate these Thursday games). But we have good food and great people. Quincy, LEC, Noble....hope to hear from you!

Just realized

Thursday game will be the first in nine years for TU to have an offensive coordinator on hand. Whether upstairs or on the sideline I am stoked that this is happening! Maybe having a dedicated play caller with a great view of the field will lead to plays being called quickly giving the offense time to get set and run the play. No more play coming in with 5 seconds left on the play clock. Fewer poor use of time outs and delay of game penalties. Having a coordinator with the last name Spurrier is a big plus for the Golden Hurricane.

🏈 Recruiting Tulsa pursuing 2025 Deer Creek QB

With numerous scholarship offers already in hand, Edmond (OK) Deer Creek quarterback Grady Adamson started his junior season in style this weekend. In a 39-14 win over Edmond North on Friday night, the 6-foot-2 and 200-pound signal-caller passed for 237 yards and three touchdowns for the Antlers.

Those numbers are no surprise, as Adamson showed off his impressive abilities at a Kevin Wilson Football Camp at the University of Tulsa on July 27.

🏈 Recruiting Tulsa beats out Mizzou, Cal and others for 3-star Ellison

Back in June, Lewisville (TX) athlete Viron Ellison listed a top five of Tulsa, Missouri, California, BYU and Arkansas State. Two months later, the Golden Hurricane ultimately won out, as the 6-foot and 180-pound running back committed to Tulsa on August 25.

Georgia Trials

Why do I think Trump will attempt to find out what evidence they used in the Chesebro and Powell trials being carried out under the speedy trial statute? Regardless of what the judge instructs the three defendants not to share, I have a sneaking suspicion that won't stop Trump from finding out what ever he can from them. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he had discussions with them, asking if they would be willing to make a request for a speedy trial for this very purpose.

He and the rest of the defendants, Mark Meadows especially, are already attempting to get a preview of evidence revealed in their attempts to have it go from state to federal. That's a secondary reason for them trying to get the jurisdiction changed to federal. Trump wants to know as much of what is coming at him as is possible before the trial, regardless if he has the right to know or not. Trump will throw anybody under the bus as long as it saves his skin.

UAPB

With less than 2 weeks before TU's clash with UAPB how about a few quick notes on the school.

Located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas population about 41,000

One of the HBC with current enrollment of 2,300+ of which 90% are African American

The football field seats 18,000 and looks great.

The have a new football coach. Alonzo Hampton has coached on several D1 staffs, and has a good resume.

The UAPB roster is dotted with a lot of JUCO transfers, high school recruits, and transfers (most from small colleges and some Arkansas State players.

They are the Golden Lions so it is a clash between two forms of gold.

🏈 Recruiting Ellison taking visits, has Tulsa in top five

Tulsa was one of several colleges to offer Lewisville (TX) athlete Viron Ellison a scholarship after his breakout junior season. The 3-star prospect now has the Hurricane in his top five and made a visit to the TU campus this summer.
