AAC Basketball Postseason Awards

Surprise!!! (Not) Haggerty was named Freshman of the Year. But a little surprising is that Archie and Reed were named to the all Freshman team. Good for them. Let's keep the core together.

If Haggerty is not 1st team AAC it's a travesty. He just accomplished something only 11 other players have accomplished since 1992-1993...and all of those players were 1st round draft picks. Guys like Trae Young, James Harden, OJ Mayo, etc. Stephon Marbury was one also. Haggerty had one of the best all around seasons in the history of the game as a FR. Let's hope they recognize that.

Game thoughts USF

Wow. Great game. We played great defense in the second half. Haggerty was the best player on the court. Great coaching by Konkol, too.

Negatives: the officials. Woof. That was rigged.

USF sportsmanship. Their coach is a classier version of the Rice guy. He argued everything. Even if he was wrong. That needs to be stopped. Pryor walked off the court without shaking hands. He’s a loser. Flopper, cheat.

GAMES OF INTEREST (3.9.24 - 3.10.24) SOUTH FLORIDA END OF REGULAR SEASON

ITS GAMEDAY!!!! This is the last regular season game for this TU mens Squad. Tulsa hosts first place and Regular Season Champs South Florida. A win guarantees 9th place. The Womens Conference tournament starts today in Fort Worth. There is a lot of opportunity for shake up in the seedings but could very well lock almost all of the seeds today with only two games tomorrow. Tomorrow I will announce the bracket challenge.

Today’s games

Memphis at FAU
Charlotte at ECU
North Texas at Rice
Oklahoma State at BYU

2028 Recruit

So remember I talked last year about Eric Peterson III who will be a senior this coming Fall at Victory Christian. Blazing fast and plays both WR and CB and I think he would primarily be a CB in college. His size is the problem as he's maybe 5'7" tops. Well the 7v7 circuit is starting to heat up and EP3's little brother Caleb (c/o 2028) is getting a lot of hype. He's not even in HS yet. He was at Holland Hall this past year and I don't know if he'll join his brother at Victory for HS or if he'll stay at Holland Hall. I've mentioned him before because he's one of the top sprinters in his age group in the US. I don't know if he's going to focus more on football or track but the 7v7 ratings guys are already propping this kid up. Again, he's smaller like his brother but I would say he's every bit as fast as Damaris Johnson.

🏈 Recruiting 2024 Preferred Walk-On Commitments & Offers

I mentioned these in various other threads, but just to have clarity in one place, these are recent WALK-ON commitments...

Horton threw for 2,072 yards and 22 touchdowns with six interceptions during his senior season at Dayton. He completed 126 of 241 passes (52.3 percent). Trivia

We did Tulsa trivia in the off season years ago. With apologies to our basketball teams, here’s one that crossed my mind today that I don’t think has been asked. Pretty obscure but maybe someone will get it.

Which TV series, which aired from 1999 to 2007, in an episode airing in March 2004, included idle dinner conversation directed to the main character where a guest remarks that the Jets are going to draft a tight end out of Tulsa.
