DL linemen

I mean, that's the theory but it doesn't seem to be the reality. There are a lot of lower NIL money teams outperforming higher NIL money teams. 6 of the top 35 in the last poll were non P5 schools, Indiana, Illinois and Syracuse outperforming traditional powers in their conferences... At least so far, NIL has been less about "more money = do better" and more about "WTF is going on". Key is can we find the cheat code like other schools have.
We haven’t shown a propensity to play moneyball when we recruit. I’m hopeful Lamb is smarter, but for the past several years we haven’t out-thought our opponents.

title 9 doesn't lower the bar
False. You yourself said that women shouldn’t be made to compete with men because of physiology. If they can’t compete and you change the rules of the game for them to be able to play themselves…. that is literally lowering the bar.

Show me 10 women in the entire NCAA who can dunk a basketball. I can show you men on a single team who can.

What I’m saying though is more complex…. Lowering the bar isn’t always a bad thing. Especially back when very few women were able to go to college…. Sometimes lowering the bar just means more people have an opportunity to achieve to the greatest level they can. Setting the bar to incentivize people to put in maximum effort is better than making a whole bunch of people sit on the sideline because they can’t clear your stupid bar.

And then there is SMU - paying players illegally and legally to win games since the 1930’s!!! They have experience and know how to use it.

Tulsa Women at Rice

Do we need better athletes or better coaching or just more money for both? You just don't lose to Rice.......
We definitely need more height and depth a center. The last two games both teams had taller and bulkier inside players. They controlled the boards. I was only half joking when I said the Rice women got more pancakes (football term for knocking player opposing player to the ground on a block) in the TU game than their football team did all season.

I hate to keep harping on officiating but Cartwright has been knocked to the ground at least 7 times in the last two games. Three of those were vicious hits. One was not a foul (previous game) because both players were wrestling for the ball when the other player out muscled her and throw her over her shoulder to the ground which led to Cartwright’s head slamming on the court. The other two were fouls but not called. One after she made a layup the other player took her out under the basket causing her to hit her head on the base of the goal support. Another time she was knocked down while catching a pass (IIRCC). Basketball can be physical but unlike football it is not supposed to be a collision sport.

Justin Moore talking TU sports

TU hosted a lunch/press conference for the media today with Justin Moore speaking. I'll just tell my impressions.

Moore seems like he really likes the TU job. Likes the organization of working at TU, living in Tulsa, etc. Says things are better at TU than he expected when he took the job. I know they all seem to say that, but I think he's telling the truth.

The main takeaway I got was that he thinks TU has a 5 or 6 year window to get sports right to position TU to be the right side of major realignment when it takes place. Win now, but not just do it one year. Win consistently over time.

Moore talks about how winning solves problems. Football has to be turned around quickly. All real money making is from football.

He says TU is positioned at NIL in top third of AAC.

Says football has to be successful. Couldn't fall in too deep a hole that you can't climb out of. That's why the change was made.

I like how Moore seems really on top of things.

Talked about existing in the college sports world where there aren't many rules. Almost no rules.

Nothing he said was anything I hadn't heard before. But just interesting to hear his take on things.

I asked if the TU men's golf team was going to be brought back. Especially since Brad Carson told me 3 years ago that would happen. He said any chance of that happening would be if the boosters stepped forward and funded it. Which I think everyone knows. If the boosters want it and fund it, it could happen.

He said some other things off the record. Nothing earth shattering. Some fun observations. We'll see if any of the other news outlets spill.

Would have been simpler to list what is not being considered :) I will be curious to see which proposals are actually being serious considered as I’m not a fan of the majority of those changes.
Right. It's clear the approach is to destroy education, destroy the ability of the middle class to possibly move upward, while serving the many times misproven notion of trickle down economics. Plus the attacks on donations to non-profit health organizations around the world all because Trump is convinced the WHO tanked his last campaign intentionally by inventing COVID and releasing it into the world.

And while not taxing tips might seem like a good idea, it's all a way to keep paying food service workers at a much below minimum wage standard.

Compiled by a tax firm from the memo which is apparently out in public. There is a very distinct attack on Higher Education in there as well.

1) Do you have an official link to the tax proposal? Doing away with the mortgage tax credit would be extremely harmful to my business.

2) I’ve spoke at length about censorship and the Biden Admin. The twitter files are a decent resource as are Zucks latest comments regarding the pressure from the Biden Admin to censor dissenting voices.

3) I don’t believe it’s so much people voting for Pubs opposed to people voting against Dems. The Dems have lost the working class and are well on their way to losing Hispanics. The demographics which looked so good for the Dems now may favor the Pubs. The Dems obsession with fringe social issues put off a number of working class and Hispanic voters. They know this but as of today haven’t been able to help themselves. I know they’re talking about a change of direction but will/can they follow through?
