The other OSU is off to a rough season sitting at 2-2. Game will be significantly more competitive than I expected.

That said we better win, they lost to Lamar...

Interesting, Keondre Dew is on the team.
Other thread on the pay board said he is suspended for tonight's game, coach's decision, and did not make the trip. It is speculated he has issues attending class. There is a link in one of the posts where Dew acknowledges why things didn't work out here. Obviously he hasn't quite learned his lesson.

Tulsa is favored by 2-2.5. After the Jacksonville St game I expected this to be a 10-20 point loss, but it sounds like it'll be a competitive game for us.

Yeah, but losing to the team that loses to Lamar is pretty bad.

I have no idea what to expect. I just hope we play hard and don't do stupid things. That's all we can ask for at this point.

I'm just excited to have my first beer at a Tulsa basketball game since I traveled to Peoria, IL for Game 2 of the CBI - the highlight season of the Wojcik era.

Game stunk, Mitchell air balled 2 or 3 layups, but I had just turned 21 and drinking in front of old people was still the awesomest thing in the world to me at the time.

I don't expect an aesthetically pleasing game tonight. Combined, only 27 of the 147 points return from last year's matchup and both teams have gotten pretty terrible guard play so far. OSU's starting backcourt is a 4-star true freshman who's turnover-prone and a juco transfer who's a Tim Peete type.

Their best player is the coach's son and he presents a matchup problem for us at the 3. He's off to a cold shooting start, but we've been pretty good at heating guys up lately. Their starting 4 is also a good scorer and could easily put Etou and Igbanu in early foul trouble. Their starting center is a 7-foot version of Edogi. A defense and rebounding specialist who's not great at either and can't score outside 5 feet.

I expect an ugly win, but we have to be better at taking care of the ball and reigning in the terrible shot selection (Henderson) or they'll grind us to a pulp.

We can't change the past unfortunately, however continuing to improve from here on out is something we can all look forward too. I truly believe the worst is behind us. And this learning curve for the coaches and players regarding this roster will be exciting by league play.

I know it's not our style, but this team needs to play ugly until we can actually run Haith's system. We need to go Kelvin Sampson in late 90's on a cold night in Lincoln ugly. Foul, grind, foul some more, argue about it, and just wear these guys out.

I like your thought process... just thug out on people. By the way, at no point do I think the word thug is racial, whoever thinks that is a moron.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a coach who knew how to play such a system? A defensive genius with a military pedigree. One with piercing eyes that can see into your soul. One who doesn't believe in junk defenses and wants our fans to call him with their ideas. One who fights for our players in important things, like whether they listen to The Beach Boys. One who has shook hands with some of the greatest coaches ever. One who won't put up with no crap from "southwest effing Tulsa."

Sigh . . .

Oh well, I guess I will watch us experiment with a bunch of young players some more. I hope we cut the rotation to nine players tonight. And play smart. The rest is gravy.

Honestly I think there's more people in the suite than there is in the stands.

Yep, broadcast just came on and I looks like the Tulsa fans are all dressed as blue seats.

Good start tonight. Hopefully we can keep it up. Igbanu keeps impressing on each end of the court.

Starting 5 playing with better intensity and not getting lost on defense. Also Oregon St has very little offense. Lots of dribbling and little passing.

Ugh. We finally get a P5 here that isn't OkState and no one shows up. Sure everyone will bitch about having to stay up until 10pm (except most of the no shows will be up at midnight shopping in a couple days). Team seems to have come out with some energy despite the lack of attendance. Good start. I like Wheeler a lot. He has the foul line pull up Shaq just didn't.

Etou is a well rounded player. Made a great entry pass to TK but he couldn't finish.

Korita just made a ridiculous skip pass that opened up Taplin for a 3. BTW Taplin so far looks good and very in control. He broke the Beaver PGs ankles on a crossover and made a nice shovel pass to TK. TK needs to be quicker to make his move to the basket.

I don't know what people want out of Taplin other than maybe moving his feet more in defense instead of reaching. He is a fantastic ball handler and he can flat out pass the basketball. He and Igbanu have the pick and roll working to perfection right now.

Looking great so far. Confused as to why we would ever go to a lineup that includes both Haith and Atson

Where are all the fans?

We're playing well so far.

Add Wheeler to the three list.
TK needs to post up. Hiding behind his man on offense. Going 11 deep on rotation.

Atson is so much smaller than I expected. It will be tough for him to play the three in college.

Was that Igbanu that came full court to block the dunk?

Yes it was. He got up slowly on the offensive end (looked like a slight cramp). Ran down the floor and then sprinted once he saw his man get the ball wide open. Seriously impressive.
