for Tulsa vs Arkansas next Saturday does that mean it is probably a pickem game? I will keep looking but this is weird a 1-5 team plays a 1-6 Sec team.

3.5 is basically the home field advantage margin for an even game. Dannysheridan shows that it opened at 3.5 and has jumped to 5 and 6 at two other casinos.

I just want to win, but with the history against the piggies I think our walk on kicker hitting the winning field goal, twice because the refs decide some phantom penalty, would make for some succulant roasted ham. Although, the pork would most likey be salty.

I've been to the last 14 Arkansas games. I feel due but doubtful.

I sometimes wonder if the players should be told how much a win over there would mean to our older alumni who have never seen a win and will likely not see another in their lifetimes. @utulsaGHC Ian, you are new to campus. For our more senior GHC members, winning over there would be bigger than beating OU, OSU, and Houston in the same season. There are deep seeded emotional reasons going back fifty years where games were out right stolen from us. Recently, we have fumbled or run the wildcat for no gain when a win was within reach. There’s a lot of division and unproductive talk on this board and I contribute my fair share, but we are united in our distaste of Arky. And that’s different than other games against other “rivals”. The players are young. They may not know the history or see the opportunity. Pass it along if you can.

I despise this game. The history behind it makes me so mad. That we gave up a home and home series for a game and then choked just adds to it. For me personally the history is three games, but it's a frustrating three games. I didn't expect much in 2003 but the last two were bitter.

The Rubley fumble was something that just seemed inevitable. As the ball was snapped you just felt a cold wind pour over you like the presence of Satan walked into the room. Then their cheap turf tore his knee up a few years later.

Jason’s kick hung in the air for what seemed to be minutes and you felt the ball fall to the ground short as your stomach plummeted to your toes in ‘83.

I was around for the last win in the 70s as a little kid with my dad, but if someone wants to start a tradition like OU putting oranges in the basket of the Seed Sower, then go tape a white handkerchief to the hands of the Glen Dobbs statue. I grew up hearing the story from my Dad about Coach Dobbs waving his handkerchief at the officials from the sideline because they were so crooked Dobbs was signaling his surrender.

Everybody cook a pig this Saturday. Burn it a little.

Your dad sounds a little like mine Huffy. He vowed back in the 60s to never return for a road game in Arkansas or Wichita due to the regular screw jobs.

He did relent and rode with me to Fayetteville a couple of times in the late 80s/early 90s but he never did return to Wichita. Can’t say I blame him there.

Yeah, the handkerchief thing was a big deal at the time. Like the ‘84 Texas game is to older OU fans or Oregon to the new ones. Or our Navy game. It’s strange that the handkerchief incident has faded from our collective memory.

I’m going and taking my 7 year old. She’s seen plenty of games in Chapman but hasn’t been to a bigger stadium. They’re having about as hard a time selling tickets to games as we are. I bought 2 lower bowl tickets, 3rd row, for $25 total. They had upper section tickets for as little s $4 ea on Stub Hub and Seat Geek. Worth the drive through the Ozarks with the colors and all. #GoTU

Have they started paying people to go yet?

Will never forget that only sack of the day with Rubley fumble. Dave Rader(St. Senator,R-Tulsa) walked past me off the field looking like someone had just shot his dog. & who can blame him? We had Arkies by the short hairs until that play.

I've only seen the one win in 72 (?) 21-20 after training 0-20 at the start of the 4th Q. This W would wash away all of the disappointment of this and last year's seasons.

Yes, it's a big deal. Bigger than both OU and OSU since we've had recent wins over those two. Houston is at its own level of hate though.

I just deep down hate Houston. I never want to stop scoring on them, ever.

Tulsa and Houston have also dominated the west divisions since we have been in the same conference. Every one of the CUSA west divisions were won by us or them. So it carries a little extra water.

This would be the biggest win in a while though. As far as rivals go it's the one we need most at this point in our shared history. Be nice to knock them off this year and OSU next year.

I’ve seen about the last 10 over there. Even the 5” rain during one game. Officials have been suspect. I grew up in Arkansas and being a hog fan back then unfortunately or fortunately saw TU beat Arkansas. That was a looooooong time ago. Since moving to Tulsa and being a TU fan there have been lots of long drives back on Saturday nights.

The last time I went my seat was passed the back line of the end zone and the building in the end zone partially blocked the field .

That'll inspire TU fans still undecided about going to Fayetteville to support the team. Another IgNoble comment. Be sure to display your tiny little Hurricane flag in your living room while you watch it on TV.

It was a joke. Irony is just lost on some people.

There you go again. Being a fan isn’t determined by the size of your hurricane flags... although, I’m fairly sure yours are larger than the ones in the south end zone...

I think after as many trips as We have made to pig land, we are due a home game.

We don’t always have to be the cheap whore for the pigs.
