Lou Holtz will deliver the fall commencement address to more than 900 University of Tulsa graduates.

According to a news release, TU will host its 128th commencement at 10 a.m. Dec. 17.

Holtz compiled a 243-127-7 career coaching record at South Carolina, Notre Dame, William & Mary, North Carolina State, Arkansas and Minnesota.

He has also authored three New York Times best-selling books: "The Fighting Spirit" that chronicled Notre Dame’s 1988 championship season; "Winning Everyday: A Game Plan For Success," which has been published in several languages; and his latest book, "Wins, Losses and Lessons," an autobiography.

He currently serves as a college football studio analyst on ESPN. He regularly appears on ESPN’s College GameDay programs and SportsCenter. He also serves as an on-site analyst for college football games.

The commencement, which is free and open to the public, will be at the Reynolds Center on TU's campus.

The guy is no dummy. Great coach, great motivator, good sense of humor. Good choice.
