∙ Memphis hosts SEC foe Ole Miss in the lone American game on Friday (8 p.m. ET, ESPNEWS). The Tigers are on a five-game winning streak and topped Southern, 72-67, in its last time out on Tuesday. Memphis freshman Dedric Lawson leads the team in scoring (15.9 ppg) and rebounding (9.0 rpg) and is fourth in The American in the same categories.
∙ Jordan Tolbert posted his second consecutive double-double for No. 18 SMU - 20 points and 19 rebounds - in Thursday’s 105-72 win over Hampton at Moody Coliseum .The Mustangs recorded their highest-scoring game since November 2010 with the win. Sterling Brown scored a career-high 23 points and Nic Moore added 18. SMU, which played its final game under the direction of associate head coach Tim Jankovich, continues action in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic next Tuesday against Kent State.
