Oh boy, another lobster who doesn't recognize they're in a pot of boiling water.
Oh boy….another Hitler reference.
Probably a little of each. It will likely be uneven across the country.I’ve talked for months that Harris was simply an awful candidate. She was awful in the 2020 primary and history repeated itself as it often does. Just a bad move by the Dems. Looking forward to national vote numbers tomorrow to see if the Dem defeat tonight was due to Pubs voting above 2020 numbers or Dems just not showing up to support a bad candidate.
Living in past bad times, not looking ahead. The reality is that the fundamentals didn’t favor her with inflation, the retreat from Afghanistan and real weakness in opportunities for young men in our society.
In most instances you could interchange their names on the negative points you outline here, but what are you going to do with such wonderful choices in both parties? As I said before, living on inflationary experiences that are mostly over.Top that off with the fact that she just wasn’t a good candidate. She’s not good at it. Appears incapable of relaxing or delivering concise answers. Refused to discuss any plans. Not really inspiring. Not as bad as Clinton, but up there. They needed a retail politician to overcome inflation. They selected maybe the worst choice for that out of the dozen or so contenders.
Ironic that Trump is being hailed as a savior of the economy when it was his pal Putin who caused the largest exacerbation of commodity prices which drove inflation…. What’s in this victory for Russia?Probably a little of each. It will likely be uneven across the country.
It will mostly be a lot of people who don’t really even consider who is running. The choice for them was between $5 for a dozen eggs or maybe not $5 for a dozen eggs.
Let me know where I can go where housing isnt double what it was four years ago and I can get a gallon of milk again for $2.89. Inflation ain’t over. It’s plateaued. In only a few sectors. I went to Sonic the other day and they wanted $9 for a blizzard and asked for a tip in the drive through to defray their labor costs.Living in past bad times, not looking ahead.

This wasn’t a compelling argument in part because she was unable, and in some cases unwilling, to articulate any credible economic policy that convinced the American people that inflation wouldn’t rise even further. Indeed her only proposal was widely panned across her entire party as sophomoric and destined to fail. She spent the rest of the campaign hoping people forgot about it.Living in past bad times, not looking ahead.

Well, predictions in the demise of the institutions of this country have been greatly exaggerated. Time and again, they have held the leadership accountable. The people did it today and they did it in 2020 and they did it in 1992 for that matter.
I’m sure Trump will fix that with his tariffs.Let me know where I can go where housing isnt double what it was four years ago and I can get a gallon of milk again for $2.89. Inflation ain’t over. People are pissed. It’s that simple.
You just helped elect A CONVICTED FELON who tried to violently overthrow the constitution and has an aversion to the truth to the Oval Office. One who was described by his own key aides and his own running mate as a fascist, who buddies up to the world’s worst dictators and who had 57/100 senators vote that he committed acts of treason. This wasn’t a compelling argument in part because she was unable, and in some cases unwilling, to articulate any credible economic policy that convinced the American people that inflation wouldn’t rise even further. I agree. But let me extend that to people in general. Not just Americans.I’m sure Trump will fix that with his tariffs.
Hahahahahahha
Idiots. Go read a history book.
The American voting populous is incredibly reactionary and incredibly gullible. They want someone to blame their difficulties on regardless of the quality of the solutions put before them.
Oh. I’m fine. I’m smiling today. Angry sure, but I am now removed from every equation…. Now the Americans gullible enough to believe Huffy and those like him get to ‘Make America Great’ I’m going to sit back and watch them…Someone please periodically check on Aston today![]()
Convicted of what crime? You just helped elect A CONVICTED FELON who tried to violently overthrow the constitution and has an aversion to the truth to the Oval Office. The demise of the institutions of the government have not been exaggerated. This is the demise. You. You are the demise…. Because you and your ilk prey on simpletons to convince them that the economy is more important than America’s integrity. The real sad fact is that you yourself are not dumb…. You just care about winning the game more than you care about the country itself.
I trust your judgement of political character and policy about as much as I trust your judgement on coaches.
Who cares?!?! Clearly that doesn’t matter to you. You just got handed the keys to the car! Go take her out for a spin. I’m sure you’ll do great.😊Convicted of what crime?
Huffy is no fool. Intellectually he has shown his merit here often. He has not even been a Trump advocate prior to this election, preferring to observe and comment rather than persuade.Oh. I’m fine. Too late in the cycle. That simple. Biden bears a ton of responsibility for trying to run again.Biden’s approval rating was 15 plus points underwater. 3/4 of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. You manage to ditch Biden. Anyone have any insight on why you replace him with his inarticulate VP knowing those numbers? Could they not get away from the DEI choice ?
You’re not alone. Only 32% of the electorate yesterday identified themselves as Democrats. I assume Republican ID is down as well though likely not to that extent. Personally, I’m glad to see signs we are growing weary of the two parties. If I can take a positive from yesterday it’s the thought that maybe we are beginning to hold our elected offices accountable.Upon reflection, I have just as often picked losers in my history as a voter.
Bush
Clinton

This is the juncture where I changed my registration from Reoublican to unaffiliated.

I still think I was right every time and that our country would be better off if everyone did what I did![]()
I really like our open primary approach for Tulsa city offices. It has become more partisan but that is ok. No harm in people declaring their affiliations. You’re not alone. We will know soon enough. The knives are already out as these people scramble to find jobs.Biden’s approval rating was 15 plus points underwater. 3/4 of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction. Prices rarely deflate, they just rise at a lower rate, and the economy spends a few years catching up to the cost in wages. The last time deflation happened with any great verve was the depression. Deflation doesn't even happen in a recession for the most part. It is avoided at all costs because of all of its negative consequences. We certainly don't desire a contraction in money supply. This wasn’t a compelling argument in part because she was unable, and in some cases unwilling, to articulate any credible economic policy that convinced the American people that inflation wouldn’t rise even further. exactly! You can't name the crime!Who cares?!?! Clearly that doesn’t matter to you. You just got handed the keys to the car! Go take her out for a spin. I’m sure you’ll do great.😊
So how are you going to fix all of our problems?
I’m all ears.
i thought you said the inflationary experience is over. When prices don’t deflate, and wages remain static, for nearly all of America, the inflation isn’t over.Prices rarely deflate, they just rise at a lower rate, and the economy spends a few years catching up to the cost in wages. The same arguments can be made against Trump. You aren't throating a true argument for or against one candidate because Trump doesn't have a good plan for the economy either. And Trump/Covid can be partially blamed for the inflationary period as well as Biden's policies.
The market is up today on the news of yesterday’s election. However, interest rates are up as well. The issue of housing affordability continues to be a real problem and will likely get worse before it gets better.Exactly.

Go ahead and keep avoiding the real conversation.Exactly.

Oh. I’m sure him and his buddies have everything figured out. “Trump will fix it” was a slogan I was seeing tossed around a few days before the election. How reassuring for me! Consider me a convert.Huffy is no fool. Intellectually he has shown his merit here often. harris/Biden broke itOh. I’m sure him and his buddies have everything figured out. “Trump will fix it” was a slogan I was seeing tossed around a few days before the election. How reassuring for me! Consider me a convert.
I have nothing to worry about. I’ll make sure to tell the girls dying in the hospitals for lack of care the same. Trump will save them! Praise Trump! Praise the Grand Ole Party! Everything is going to be okay for now we have Trump. 😁
I’ll make sure to tell the children in the schools to make sure they pray as hard as they can to the great Teflon Cheeto so he will save them the next time their school goes into lockdown.
He will fix it.
The GOP really is the party of inclusion. 😃It warms the cockles of my heart. And maybe the sub cockles….All the numbers aren’t in, but this is fascinating. A majority of White Americans did not vote for Trump. Blacks, Hispanics, Jews and Muslims voted Republican in record numbers.
Oh yes they certainly did, Oberleutnant!harris/Biden broke it
IMO, if that were the case, Harris would've won this election. Her campaign seemed to be based mostly on fear, propped up by numerous hoaxes. I think that backfired, as that is much harder to do in this day and age, where folks can look up full clips to see what a candidate actually said. Granted, there are still plenty of people out there that just believe what they see on social media and national news, but, obviously, enough folks did their research to see what was true and what wasn't. I think that was the difference in this election. Had the democrats ran Bobby Jr. or some other moderate liberal candidate with solid ideas for change, I think they would've had a very good chance of winning...by a lot.The American voting populous is incredibly reactionary and incredibly gullible.

It is going to be interesting when interest rates go up and Trump demands the Fed lower rates because his properties might be underwater. The market is up today on the news of yesterday’s election. However, interest rates are up as well. The issue of housing affordability continues to be a real problem and will likely get worse before it gets better.
Fed has very little to do with interest rates on real estate. In fact, in the current environment mortgage rates would likely increase if the Fed lowered rates. Which is exactly what occurred last month. It is going to be interesting when interest rates go up and Trump demands the Fed lower rates because his properties might be underwater.
Deregulation and tax cuts will always make business feel better…. No way we need to worry about consequences. Trump has it all handled! He has the best people!Fed has very little to do with interest rates on real estate. In fact, in the current environment mortgage rates would likely increase if the Fed lowered rates. I don’t normally post on Crossfire, but I went to lunch today and I just felt froggy. Harris lost this election by being Harris. She was not elected by the dems to be the nominee. She was selected because it was so close to the convention. I don’t think she has had an original thought or idea put out there in the media for us to hear. She put herself out there as the candidate for change but she is in the current administration. That looks bad on her. Her whole “campaign” was, IMO, a clone of Obama. The Democrat forever people voted for her an the people who hate Trump voted for her. Those that really didn’t care and the Trump supporters voted Trump. Her losing Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin is an indictment of her.Had the democrats ran Bobby Jr. or some other moderate liberal candidate with solid ideas for change, I think they would've had a very good chance of winning...by a lot.
That’s what is truly sad, out of the whole country , these were our only 2 options ?I don’t normally post on Crossfire, but I went to lunch today and I just felt froggy. I didn’t vote for with of these two knuckleheads. I voted as a write in. After January 6th I was done with Trump. I can’t stand Harris so I couldn’t vote either. I do believe that they could have put a better candidate up there for the dems and they would have won except for Kennedy. I would have voted democrat if they did.
This tracks. Everyone needs an excuse for voting against our supreme leader. Make sure to keep your explanation handy when you report to the council.I don’t normally post on Crossfire, but I went to lunch today and I just felt froggy. I disagree Chris. Trump was all about fear and denigrating America. Harris was the one who stood up for America's greatness.IMO, if that were the case, Harris would've won this election.
