As much as most of us don’t like it, the reality is NIL is here to stay. NIL is a huge part of athletic success. TU just lost its top men’s & top women’s basketball player. TU must hire a dynamic fundraiser as their new athletic director.

TU has a small alumni base, but is the best sports entertainment option in a metro area of over 1 million people. TU must find a way to attract new fans and donors that are not alumni. We need a dynamic fundraiser to connect with the Tulsa area business community.

If we are to have athletic success in today’s NIL world we must truly become Tulsa’s team. That starts with hiring a new AD that has the personality and energy to lead that drive.

ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR!!

The Fifth Annual Bracket Challenge (AKA Win Loca's Money) is upon us. Just like last year there is now a prize involved with this Bracket Challenge. Since there is something of worth available to the winner only, there are some rules with this. These rules are non-negotiable. To be eligible for the prize you must satisfy all of the requirements. I know that I can't make it too secure but I do what I can.

So now what is the Prize? The Prize is worth $10 dollars. This can be done in an electronic payment or a gift card. This is to make it friendly and something to shoot for. I also didn’t take people to raise so it’s a low amount. Lol.

Rules: (These are strictly adhered to)

1. You are only allowed one bracket entry.
2. Your bracket name must be your handle on ITS. IF I cannot find the (@name) then your bracket is ineligible.
3. I will lock entries at 10 am on the first day of the round of 64.
4. The delivery of the prize will be up to the winner. They will have a choice of the following:
a. Sent via VENMO or Zelle only. I don’t Cash App, Apple Pay, or any others.
b. Gift card of your choice but I must be able to do an electronic Gift Card to be sent to
your email address.
c. I will leave this option open if someone has a good idea.

This idea sounds pretty interesting, I have to say. I get the "we don't want to label ourselves as second tier" but G5 conferences are second tier and will only become more so as money becomes even more unevenly distributed. I'm honestly not interested in watching teams with $5m NIL players, that's just pro ball. I'd like a real college football system again.

Former Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany presented to leagues an idea of the three G5 leagues with southeastern footprints (AAC, CUSA, Sun Belt) reorganizing geographically. The Tulsa men’s basketball coaches are combing the transfer portal to help fill out their roster for next season, and three players have made recent visits to the TU campus.

Don Tomkalski, the longest tenured employee in the athletic department, is retiring after 40 years. He’s pretty much at every game and getting stats and records to the media. A Tulsa legend.

Tulsa defeats Valpo 9-0 run rule, defeats Lehigh 11-2, scoring 9 runs in the 6th and 7th innings after Lehigh had tied 2-2 in the 5th.

Now below both OU and OSU. Woof. Lots to criticize in the ranking criteria. Doesn’t change the fact that people still look at these rankings.
