I know it’s a private platform which can subjectively censor speech and ban those whose ideas don’t align with those in charge. However, curious in a broader sense what if any ramifications the deep thinkers of the crossfire board believe the Musk takeover have on the platform, political climate and society at large?

Game thoughts Houston

Wow. Great game. So happy for everyone and the school. There isn’t a program I enjoy sticking it to more. We may never play they asshats again.

Braxton is a great player. Williams or Oneok or BOK needs to give him an NIL deal.

Congrats to Phillip Montgomery. We’ve been hard on you and you often did some nice things: I won’t mention the other stuff here.

And congrats to the seniors. Well done.

Trust Brad Carson!

For somewhat obvious reasons, I have tremendous faith in Brad Carson and Rick Dickson. I firmly believe Monty would not have been fired if they weren't serious about raising the bar in terms of salary.

We could all sit here and throw out names of guys who we think would be great candidates and probably put together a pretty good list, but my guess is that nobody will get that close to guessing who the next guy will be. These two (Carson and Dickson) run stealth searches as evidenced by the Konkol hire and I suspect this will be very similar.

I have guys in mind that I'd like to see, but ultimately I really do trust the leadership that is currently in place at TU and it's been a long time since we could say that. One more note of caution as you follow the search...take what the local media guys (particularly the TW) with a grain of salt. Talk about throwing spaghetti on the wall and seeing if it sticks...that's all these guys are doing and they truly know nothing about the search.

Let's see what happens, but my prediction is that it will be a splash of a hire, meaning that major $$$ were dedicated to the salary of the next coach and the future of the program. Carson isn't in this to lose and anyone who knows him, knows that.

📝 Larry Lewis Montgomery's tenure at Tulsa ends after eight seasons

The ups and downs of the Philip Montgomery era is over after 8 years at Tulsa. In the end, going to bowl games in 4 of those 8 years, which included outstanding seasons in 2020 and 2016, and three winning seasons, wasn't enough. Montgomery was let go despite winning his last game Saturday night, an impressive 37-30 win at Houston. His career record at TU is 43-53.

Official Houston Game Thread

Hey at least we are not sitting in the rain for this one…

To help our Houston friend who seems to have a hard on for us, let’s get this out of the way:

Fun Fact! Did you know Holgerson has never lost to Tulsa?

Fun Fact #2! Did you know that one time Tulsa lost to Houston 100-6?

Ok, on with our movie version of Dead Coach Walking…..

Football next year

I had someone tell me last week that the staff is saying we are really young. When I questioned how that could be with our top 2 RBs, starting 3 WRs, starting TE, 3 starting LBs, starting FS and a couple of our rotating D-linemen all graduating I didn’t get much of a response. I think we need to get quite a few transfers from the portal or we will be playing keys positions with very limited snaps. Thoughts?
