Lights on at TU Event

I hope some of you were able to make it out to campus this evening to participate. It was VERY well put together and organized. Absolutely nothing like it’s been in the past. The tented area was awesome with a cash bar, hot cocoa, and even a full buffet. There was caroling, s’mores, plenty of heaters outside, Santa was there for the kids and every kid got a little stuffed Goldie dog - every bit of it free and open to the community.

Big props to Carson and all who were involved in putting this on tonight. Fantastic beginning to an annual tradition!

Official Tulane-UCF Prediction Thread

Since there is absolutely nothing happening right now on these boards, thought it would be fun to get your predictions for the AAC Champ game.

Tulane showed me something by beating the COVID kitties at the home of really bad chili.

Will Fritz be moving on? Will that be a distraction?

The other Tul: 34
The Fighting Malzahns: 27

Bonus Kendall Prediction: The Big 12 contracts a serious case of buyer’s remorse with these three teams.

TU Women Beat Duquesne

65-59. Go down by 7 early, build 20 point lead, DU gets within 1 with a minute left but we hit FTs down the stretch to win. Not a good 3 point night for us. Our starting center didn’t play and neither did the new PG. Crawford and Evans both had double doubles. Freshmen Young is going to be a star. Biddle injured during the game missed some key minutes but was in at the end. Poindexter, Mayberry and Biddle didn’t have best shooting nights but played hard and added value in other ways.

Duquesne game

TU women held on for a good road win against 5-1 Duquesne Dukes. Up by 20 at the half, TU let the Dukes back in the game in the second half but made some clutch free throws in the last minute to escape with a six-point win. Two transfers who have started games this season. Gallegos and Levings (our big), did not appear to be suited up. No word on why.

Trump's safe...

Hard to know what to make of the FBI raid on Trump's Mara Logo house house The FBI and DOJ had to know that the Trump Republican's reactions would be exactly what they have been (threats and anger), so the FBI must have believed that 1) they had a firm knowledge of that something was there and 2) that it was significant. Otherwise the FBI just looks foolish , political and Trump comes out stronger and more aggrieved. DOJ/FBI won't be talking for a while, and they may have misjudged and found zippo. Have to wait and see.

BUT what could have been so important that the FBI would take the risk? Presumably it had to do with material taken from the White House that should have gone into the archives instead of his house. Trump's toddy Kash Patel was in charge of the archives when Trump left, so maybe it took a while to determine what was missing? But what could it have been?
1) Minutes of meetings with Jan 6 organizers? Unlikely why keep the material instead of destroying it?
2)Translations of private, official meetings with Putin. Unlikely and why keep?
3) Highly classified material. Maybe, he had access, but what good would they do him now?
4) Dirt on people he was blackmailing? Ok, the mobster approach, but what would the FBI and National Archives have to do with it?

Those ideas don't work. Anyone else?

I do suspect, however, that for the FBI to take this step, they must have had an informant who claimed the material was there. Whatever it was or was supposed to be.

Interesting to find out how all this transpired.

Facebook threads

People should post the most special responses to stories and articles from the 'book. First up for me comes from Suzanne McDonnell.

"TU hires a good coach & then does nothing to help them be successful & then fires them. Same story over & over. Blankenship was another example"

Sorry homegirl hiring high school coaches is never a good way to go.

Arrested For Strangulation, Third Degree Assault

LINCOLN — Five days after he last served as Nebraska football’s interim head coach, Mickey Joseph on Wednesday afternoon was arrested and booked into Lancaster County Jail on charges of strangulation and third-degree domestic assault, according to a press release from the Lincoln Police Department.

Milkman only

I would absolutely love for Brennan Marion to be our head coach or OC. He’s easily one of my top 5 players in TU history. Obviously, the circumstances around his arrival on campus in 07 are special. One of the the best things Todd Graham has done in his entire life.

My wife, who goes to maybe two games a year (more like one), has already said if Milkman is hired in any capacity, she’ll be at every game. That’s how much his story resonates.

I appreciate Guerin Emig giving Milk the attention he deserves. But my one and only concern: What if it doesn’t work out? Are we willing to risk the love?

Biden, the Union Man...

Biden asking Congress to force the Unions to take the deal..

Candidates

Lets get a separate thread for just candidates, whether they be rumors or just who you hope gets an interview.

If the money is there: Scott Frost should 100% be looked at if he's willing to hire an OC. (Assuming he's interested)

If we need to pinch pennies, I think Kinne would be a slam dunk.

Games of Interest (11.25.22) Oklahoma State

ITS GAMEDAY

TU Men head to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. The game will be on the Big 12 Network and ESPN+. This will be the first action since dropping two close ones at Myrtle Beach. I will say that both of those games were winnable. This team is playing really well or at lease better than I thought they would be. Now its time to get back on the winning track.

TU Women head to the Bay Area to participate in the San Francisco Tournament. They play Long Beach State this afternoon and South Carolina State tomorrow afternoon. Ladies have only dropped one game and it was a close one to Arkansas. ORU gave them a close game in the first half before TU separated itself from them.

Oregon State is playing Florida today in the PK85 Tournament. They dropped a 3 point decision to Duke yesterday. Oregon State has dropped their last two games to be 3-2. Florida is 3-2 as well after losing by 7 to Xavier.

Memphis and Nebraska meet in the losers bracket of the ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando. Nebraska lost to Oklahoma and Memphis lost to Seton Hall. Seton Hall is coached by Shaheen Holloway from the Cinderella Saint Peters team last year. They are 4-1 on the year losing only to iowa. He did take the Seton Hall team to Saint Peters and beat the brakes off of them 80-44

And One

I haven’t posted as I needed to recover from my trip, Thanksgiving with too many people here and the World Cup. Over the first round of games we have seen a couple upsets with Japan knocking off Germany and Saudi Arabia knocking off Argentina. Neymar from Brazil injured his ankle in the win yesterday and might be out for the remainder of the tournament. This morning Wales, who took a draw with the US, got railed by Iran 2-0. The Wales keeper got a red card and will be out of the game against England. Wales has to beat England to have a shot at advancing. US and England play this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. on FOX.
