📝 Larry Lewis Game Preview: Tulsa begins conference play at North Texas

The importance of Tulsa getting a road win against a decent opponent, especially in a place and over a team that TU had previously struggled, cannot be overstated.

The confidence the Golden Hurricane gained from the victory over Louisiana Tech last Saturday night is much needed going into what should be a tough, even matchup at North Texas in Denton Saturday night at 6 p.m at DATCU Stadium (30,850).

What if PAC 10/12 ...

ESPN was reporting yesterday that Texas State and Northern Illinois are the top prospects for the Mountain West. Both the MWC and the PAC still need more schools to meet minimum requirements.

The NIU proposal is football only. No word on where they would park their Olympic sports. Tex St would be a full member.
Texas State makes a little bit of sense, NIU makes zero sense. NIU and the MAC are a match made in heaven. MWC should focus on the Dakota schools and trying to get them to jump to FBS.

Army at Temple

28-14 Temple scored on last two possessions.

Next week if we can protect the QB we can score. Defense has to stop the option.
This Army team is a little different than what we are used to. They can actually throw the ball down the field and not on gadgets. Their QB is one of those dawgs you want on your side. Tough kid.

We should have the advantage in the trenches. We need our OL guys to figure out how to create just a little leverage on the line to let Watkins, Jackson, and Avant get started.

What if PAC 10/12 ...

I find it hilarious that the MWC schools are basically jumping to a new conference which will be the exact same as the conference they're currently in with no promise of additional access to anything and no additional eyeballs or TV exposure than what they currently have. I think this is the real reason why Memphis, USF, and anyone else that may have been approached decided staying put is a better short term proposition. And unlike the MWC where the PAC-2-4-6-8-10-12-14 likely said the joining fees would be waived, likely not the same for Memphis et. al. and the AAC exit fees are pretty steep.

And I think the AAC should make some concessions to Air Force to pull them into the mix. MWC is not going to let them go easily.
