Never heard of Dave Bolding. Sounds like a jagov. If he was ever part of Jenks, he was most likely the janitor.
He was an assistant at Jenks for 10 years (2007-2017) before taking over at Bixby (2018-2021) and he moved to Owasso as the boys head coach in 2022. Which tracks because my interaction with him in HS came at Bixby in 2021 when my son was a FR at Union. So the game my daughter was on where he was coaching an NEOFC team on Sunday, the center ref was a former player of his at Jenks. Former player didn't like him then for the same reason I mentioned above.

I get that but you best believe that if, somehow, TU were in the mix for an at large bid to any tournament, this would be talked about whether or not it's on the official record or calculated in the computer rankings. Remember, there are real live people making the decisions, not a computer.
No it wouldn't. Do you think the selection committee is going to go to TU's official website and look at that game if they have a good season? Of course not. It's not listed on their schedule because its an EXHIBITION. The SEOSU game was not.

I think it is a stretch to think an at large decision will be made because of someone remembering we lost an exhibition game. It would not even be on the team sheets.

The next one is D2 as well but on the real schedule.

I don't know how fluky our shooting was. We weren't any better last year. Barnes has a nice looking shot but I don't remember him being particularly effective outside except for maybe 1 game. We haven't been a good 3 pt shooting team in quite some time despite all the raves about certain players coming in.

And it still doesn't sound like we can defend consistently.
My disappointment is related to what I saw in practice from Willis, Reed and Barnes. Even in warmups their shots are just not right. Hell the walk ins were shooting better.

I still can't believe ASSTOWN is still on this record thing. Last night's game isn't even listed on our official schedule on ESPN....the game we lost to SEOSU? IT WAS. There is a big difference in how losses in those games are handled...last night's loss wouldn't have hurt in any way shape or form as far as the NCAA is concerned.

He'll end up at UCONN. He and Hurley are made for one another. As for the NIL aspect, make the deal multi year and have them sign a contract. Since the NCAA is powerless to enforce any rules these days, including making sure the players are actual students at the schools, then the schools should be able to enforce an actual legal contract complete with a hefty buyout if the players leaves for any reason prior to the completion of the terms of the agreement. You can transfer as many times as you want but if the buyout is bigger than the NIL deal you're getting, is the new school going to pay that buyout for you. The players and now agents want all the benefits and pay of being a pro player, including free agency, well make them sign contracts like pros and hold them to it.

Agreed that is was basically a fancy scrimmage.

Maybe not but they could probably calculate the tax on said NIL check in their heads

Closed door scrimmages mean far less than preseason open games. Those are often where coaches are working on specific game scenarios. Remember when we "beat" LSU last year? That meant less than nothing.

The NCAA will hold a D2 exhibition loss against you even if they say it's not part of your "official record" (we learned that with Haith).

Tonight wasn't an NFL or NBA preseason where the starters don't even play. This was 90% of our real team getting taken to the brink by a bunch of kids who probably couldn't dream of getting an NIL check.

I want a way to completely ignore the aspect of a degree. I want a way to ask the most money I can for you to immediately act like a family member whom I will abandon after one year. And I want you as a coach, and you as a program to eat my :crap: & like it, as I take a ton of your money for a one year quickie, slam bam thank you maam. Thanks for the money, cuz I wasn't here long enough to make any memories. Also, if it turns out I am not as good as advertised, I want you to take the hit, & continue paying me 4M until I can reach that point at which I make my fast getaway to the league. So I want you to be on the hook for four years if it takes me that long to get to the league. All good?

G league, take these fckrs out of high school, and turn our league back into a student/athlete college athletics program, please!

📝 Larry Lewis Tulsa beats exhibition opponent Missouri S&T in overtime

Tyshawn Archie showed some buzzer beating magic that could be a preview of things to come for TU basketball. Although only an exhibition game, Archie’s 30-foot three-pointer at the end of regulation sent the game into overtime, and catapulted TU to a 75-70 victory over Missouri S&T on Tuesday night in front of an announced crowd of 2,715 at the Reynolds Center.

Take aways from the game...

-- Garcia did not suit-up, so the defense covered Reed and Smikle with 1 defender and their 2 bigs were both better.
--There was no going into the center and a kick out for easy baskets
--Physically Reed looks better, but athletically not the improvement one should see after a first season
--Smikle often out of rebounding position and has weak hands
-- Barnes was so-so, I expected better
-- Willis was rusty after a year lay-off due to injury
--Archie had some great moments, but made to many mistakes with the ball
-- Carrington played well on both ends of the court
-- McWright will see time off the bench, unless he shows more than he showed tonight
.. Odem seemed to be the brightest spot on the court tonight and should become more consistent with playing time.

TU played to lose that game and should have lost to the Miners.
We got lucky with the Archie shot at the buzzer and

Willis with 10 rebounds and Barnes with 9 is promising. But Archie is the only deep threat at this point. Glad they didn't list the turnovers.
