I can't speak for WSA but the girls that play at Blitz love their coaches. I think WSA has a direct connection to a D1 girls program at ORU and I know Wes Branstetter recruits a lot of WSA girls to go play at Pitt St (D2) and he had a connection with the Bushes at WSA as well. Plus both of those clubs have RL and I know they're being told if they play well enough they could get promoted. Plus the politics at TSC I know has pushed a lot of girls to the other clubs. They might be NL quality but weren't getting the looks they thought they should have been getting so they went elsewhere. I know several TSC players (boys and girls) who have left over the lack of transparency in the tryout process. Players know what's up and who should get those shots. I mean the Oklahoma State Gatorade Player of the Year left TSC because TSC refused to move a GK off the NL team.
There's a lot of pressure to play ECNL and the players feel it and I think it burns them out as well. I think some of those players move away from TSC or stay at their current clubs because they just want to play and enjoy playing.
That Gatorade player of the year got butthurt because he was told he was going to have to share time. Reality bites when you competing against Dallas Texans academy vs PC original.
Who is telling they are getting promoted to NL as a club? I have heard this line of horse dook since I moved back to Tulsa.
It seems like there are a bunch of truly ignorant parents that don't understand the vast chasm between NL vs RL play. If you say there isn't, then you know very little about soccer.
If Pitt state is your goal for soccer, you can probably make it as a GA player. I have refereed many RL games, and I can hardly do it anymore. I have done WSA games. It isn't pretty.
If I was the director of the ECNL, I would watch that and say there isn't a chance in hell that is standing in against Real Colorado, Solar, Texans, FC Dallas, and Challenge. The unfortunate thing as I have mentioned on here is that Tulsa is a small market. If we start disaggregating the talent, it really screws us up to compete with Texas.
It sucks to make Barry the dude because I guess he pisses off so many people but Tulsa coaches also bounce around too. Look at Joao he has gone through all 3 of the bigger clubs now.
But also agree with you at ECNL there is a lot of pressure, some people may not want that. That is cool. Soccer is a journey. define your path. Friendships, coaches, experiences, teammates, winning all add up. You may just want to hangout and play more competitive games with your pals. That's fine too.
It would just be nice from a competition perspective if there was someone of a very high level ready to slip in. In Dallas, I am sure there are 6 girls ready for every one that leaves
