There was a really positive vibe around the program the past month and a nice crowd for senior night. Some folks were daring to believe we had turned the corner.

Barring an NIT invitation we squandered that positive energy with today's loss. I expect more disengagement and disinterest going into next season.

I don't think those positive vibes will disappear with this loss.(for the team) I'm still positive for next season. Joiner, Taplin, Scott, Igbanu... They'll be back with increased confidence and experience. I think Horne and the recruits will cover those that left.

Maybe for the team, but for the diminishing fan base it is a big issue. Expect the continuation of diminishing crowds until we really do something noticeable. Beating K State and OSU for example.

The fans we have left are die hard enough that I don't see it getting worse. Maybe not better, but not worse. Hopefully I'm not deluding myself and we don't struggle for 2000 fans to start out next year.

We'll have a large "kids day" crowd to start the season...unless the teachers are still on strike. Otherwise attendance will remain about the same for the non-conference games. Not sure if we play Kansas State here or in Manhappenin' next year.

TU must start next season stronger. One of my main criticisms of Haith is that the team doesn't seem ready when the season starts. Some of those early season losses, Lamar and Illinois State in particular really hurt our chances for a NIT bid. If we were 22-9 instead of 19-12, we would likely be in, even after today's disappointing result. But most likely. the season is over.

Hopefully we won't have a last minute Magnay event next year, and he'll have them more prepared. He's more prepared for an exact duplication, trading two for three bigs next year.(Etou & Magnay for Horne, Hewitt, and player to be named later.)

Who cares about the NIT?? Our sights must be set higher...BTW, 22-9 may have gotten us into the big dance.

NIT is often springboard for NCAA.(Recruiting, experience, more time playing, confidence, etc.) Even the top programs don't go to the NCAA every year.

Isn't today evidence of need for better shooters and playmakers? I know those aren't easy to get, but our inside game (at least in conference) wasn't as bad as I thought when we struggled early (maybe my expectations are too low). Really thought today was going to be a good day- seemed like we were catching Memphis at the right time- that's what has me so disappointed- we should beat this Memphis team

We’re losing our best player though. That’s always a reason for concern (duh). Hard to take a step forward when losing your best player.

Our best inconsistent player though. Still have hope that Horne covers up for him at 70-80%, and the rest of the team covers the rest. I think some of our players will fill the void. Still think there's hope for a better season next year. Not expecting it, just saying it doesn't seem outlandish to think we might. A more consistent team next year might be better than inconsistent but better, by the way.

Fools gold again. That's how I feel over and over for a decade running.

Not a slam as i am a tu alum but how many of your non Tu friends and not alums of ou tu or ou every year tell you tulsa should drop to ncaa dii or naia and join leagues with northeastern talequah or Ok baptist , I cant explain enough that we would have no fan support then they say at least an ivy league conference. Ive had to fight this for years this like being called a little brother.:puke:

Etou started off slow but wasn't the problem today. Taplin too much dribbling, too little passing, and an unbelievably bad effort on the last play, go watch it again. 5-19 from field

Etou has been absent or all in. I think it’s psychological. Probably frustrating for him as us.

True on Taplin today. I like his aggressiveness but he needs to mix that with kicking out more.
My expectations for next year are pretty high as I think everyone’s should be.
