Watch that Ref closely.... he knew...

Dane took it to a new level with the consistency of his passes. And he did it on a day he knew he would probably need to. Calm, cool, performance under pressure, in spades.

Probably forgotten in all this mess is the fact that Dane became the all-time leading passer in TU history today. I'm sure he doesn't care about that right now, but it's still a pretty amazing accomplishment considering all the great quarterbacks we've had and the two-year stretch of losing we endured during his freshman and sophomore seasons.

I was at the game. The last play was clearly a strip and we got hosed. They showed the replay once and then cut it off.

BUT

Catch that pass in the end zone that fell into the defenders lap and we win. Dane doesn't throw a 100 MPH bullet to Flanders out of the back field and we might get six instead of three. Dane his Hobbs or Josh instead of over throws and they are gone for TDs. We don't get called for a facemask by an O-lineman, we might score a TD or FG and we win the game. We make the 2 point and we are tied.

We shot ourselves in the foot, just like in Houston (I was also there). Any of the above doesn't happen and the last palay doesn't matter. This one hurt, but Navy was a great host and the fans were gracious.

In these type of games, battle for top spot in conference late in season, there will ALWAYS be the "if that happened, if this happened". Bottom line, these games come down to one drive or one play late in the 4th, and a ref can and did determine the outcome of the game.

The ref simply blew it. And then the head ref did not have the balls to overturn such a huge play that would have gone against the home team, on Navy's Senior Day, a day after Veteran's Day.

You, I, and everyone who saw the play knows it was the wrong call.

Yep and he will likely pass Paul in total offense sometime during the next three games.
And Flanders and Brewer will Likely pass up the Palomino Express about the same time.
My guess is at home against Cincinnati for both of those records.

Flanders/Brewer need 329 yards to surpass Gunter/Lacy for most combined season yardage. Could happen against UCF but yeah, probably more likely against UC.

Evans needs 396 total yards to surpass Smith which could again happen against UCF but is also more likely in the season finale.

A few more records yet to fall and lots more movement on the school's various charts to come. Keevan Lucas is the big one to watch with one major 50-year record within reach (career receiving and another 50-year record possible with three monster games (season receiving). Both records, of course, are held by Howard Twilley.

I'm not holding out much hope on Lucas busting either of Twilley's records.

Was at the game forward progress stopped ref blew whistle ran in waving hand. Not sure if you can hear the first whistle on tape but no strip until after the whistle was blown. Lotta crying and excuse making going on.

The whistle came after the arms went up... for certain.

The arms went up after the strip... for certain.

The video evidence is unmistakable.

Anyone crying otherwise likely craps their own pants and doesn't know what day it is...

Either way, he was stopped short. It should've been turned over on downs. But the bitchass referee made up some invisible unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. And even so, it was AFTER the play, so we should still get the ball back again. Walk us back 15 yards, but it's not Navy's ball.

You are either deaf or a liar. Watch the video. The tape doesn't lie.

It was a great game but you guys don't need to come on here and lie. Looks bad. The league should suspend the crew and rescind the penalty on Brubaker with an apology to him.

If the play was whistled dead before BRU had the ball why were the Navy RBs chasing Bruband tackling him? If it was after the whistle where's the 15 yard penalty for late hit/unnecessary roughness?

If the linesman came in and told the ref that forward progress was stopped, it CAN'T be reviewed regardless if there is evidence indicating otherwise. That's why officials are told to swallow your whistle until you're sure. You can always correct a late whistle, you almost certainly screw a team with a premature whistle.

Another unfortunate ramification (and apologies if someone has already mentioned this) but that loss killed our chances to potentially host the championship game, which is obviously a loss of revenue for the program. Don't know the economic impact that ends up being, but it certainly makes it even tougher to swallow the circumstances surrounding that final few seconds.

I don't see how the AAC can maintain delusions of P6 status when you have this kind of rinkydink bias crap going on. Want to be treated like a real conference? Then show professionalism and act like a real conference. As long as the games are a joke, decided on blatantly biased calls, then the conference will deserve to be treated like a joke. We're like the old jai alai league (good reference for old time Tulsans).

It costs the school more than it makes ...
