Travel to Stanford California for the weekend.
Friday 3/11
Noon: #11 Florida State(18-3)
7:30pm Stanford (11-8)
Saturday 3/12
1:30 Florida State
4:00 RV California Polytechnic (14-5)
Sunday 3/13
1:30 Cal Poly
Tuesday 1/15 (at home)
5:00 #17 Minnesota (13-5)
Wednesday 1/16 (at Fayetteville)
5:00 Arkansas (11-9)

Florida State lost to Illinois 5-1 (we lost 5-4) and has a team batting average of .369 and pitching ERA of 1.66
Stanford beat Cal Poly 6-4
Cal Poly hits .307
Minnesota beat Oklahoma 1-0 and lost to Florida State twice 5-4 and 2-0 hits .318
Arkansas beat Wright State 1-0 (we beat 2-1) and hits .317

That’s a challenging week for any team.
For reference Tulsa hits .304 and a ERA of 1.50
Other than Florida State the other 4 teams ERA are not comparable (2.49 and up)
If pitching holds up Tulsa will have a chance to make a lot of noise.
I also think we will need to see a few more of those hits in a row to push a few more runs across than they have been to help the pitchers out.

Friday’s and Sunday’s games were rained out.
Saturday results
Game 1 L 0-8 (5 Innings)

Florida State 8 runs on 10 hits 0 errors 5 LOB
Tulsa 0 runs on 0 hits committed 2 errors and 0 LOB
Notes:
Florida State’s M. King had a perfect game.
Emily Watson pitched 4.2 with 5 ER on 8 hits 2 BB with 6 K
Ellie Reaves pitched 1.0 with 2 ER on 2 hits 1 BB with 0 K
Lexi Blevins pitched .1 with 0 ER 0 hits 0 BB 0 K

Game 2 W 11-0 (6 innings)
Tulsa 11 runs on 10 hits 0 errors 4 LOB
Stanford 0 runs on 2 hits committed 3 Errors 4 LOB
Notable;
Maddie Withee was 2 for 3 with an HR and 3 RBI
Catherine Horner was 1 for 3 with a double and a SF and 3 RBI
Jocelyn Sheffield was 1 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI
Julia Hollingsworth was 2 for 2
Caitlin Sill pitched all 6 innings with 0 ER on 2 hits 3 BB and 3 K and 1 WP

Who would have thought you go to California and get 2 of 3 days rained out.

Because of high winds game time for Minnesota has been pushed back to 7:00pm and admission is free.

Tuesday W 6-4
Minnesota 4 runs on 8 hits committed 1 error and had 8 LOB
Tulsa 6 runs on 6 hits committed 1 error and had 3 LOB
Notable:
Catherine Horner was 2 for 3 with a triple scored twice and had 2 RBI
Shelby Estocado was 2 for 2 with a double and a HR, an intentional BB, scored twice, stole a base and had 2 RBI
Jodi Edmiston had a RBI SAC fly and Kaitlin Allen an RBI hit back to back in the 6th that were (excuse the expression) HUGE!
Caitlin Sill pitched the complete game with 3 ER on 8 hits 2 BB 1 HBP and 2 K.

Looks to have been a fun game. Minn. scored 1 each in the first 2 innings, Tulsa tied in up in the bottom of the 2nd, Minnesota went back up scoring 1 each in the 4th and 5th.
Down 4-2 in the bottom of the 6th Tulsa took advantage of a leadoff walk, then error with Horner’s triple, Estocado’s intentional BB, Edmiston’s SAC, and Allen’s RBI hit to go up 6-4
In the top of the 7th Sill gave up 2 hits to put runners at 2nd and 3rd with 0 outs.
A FC ground ball to Withee who came home to cut off the run from scoring, the hitter tried to advance to 2nd on the play at the plate and was caught for a 5-2-4 DP
A fly ball ended the threat and stranded the runner at 3rd.

GO TU! This team can hit. Obviously if they can catch a team whose pitcher isn't prone to throwing complete game perfect games, then TU has a chance to win most games it plays.

Wednesday W 4-3
Tulsa 4 runs on 5 hits, had 1 error and 9 LOB
Arkansas 3 runs on 7 hits had 3 errors and 9 LOB
Notable:
Maggie Withee had an RBI double scored twice
Kaitlin Allen had a triple and an RBI BB to tie the game.
Emily Watson pitched the complete game giving up 3 ER on 7 hits 3 BB 1 WP and had 8 K

Another back and forth game, In the 3rd Tulsa went up by 2 on Allen’s triple followed by Withee’s double, who later scored.
Watson seems to have gotten rattled in the 5th by a base hit followed by a HR, by giving up 2 more base hits, a walk, then a WP to score the 3rd run. She was able to get a ground ball out and 2 K between all that and stayed in the game.
A base hit in between a couple of BB set up Allen’s based loaded BB to tie the game in the 6th.
Tulsa got another run in the 7th, but left the bases loaded.
Watson let Arkansas lead off the bottom of the 7th with two base hits putting runners at 1st and 2nd.
A line drive 3-4 DP, followed by the 8thK of the day ended the game.

Still playing strong. Pitching certainly likes to make things exciting in the 7th. Always seems there are runners on in tight games.
