Poll for the TU Faithful.

I was thinking about a few of the recruits from that past off-season that decided to play somewhere other than Tulsa. According to ESPN recruiting rankings, Bryce Thompson was one of the most talented players we were recruiting this past season. If Tulsa had landed Bryce, what would our current win-loss record look like today?

That is hard to cast a vote on. Could he have been the X-factor for the team? Would those close losses have been wins? Could we have been worse than we are now? A highly talented player can turn a team to the better or to the worse. So if there was an "other" category I would have voted there. With the choices we have I would say that the close losses would have been wins.

Well, the World’s Letters to the Editor is featuring ones about TU basketball, and they follow the general tenor of this season.

Fan need to support TU basketball, TU needs to look after fans
It is sad that the school no longer enlists Tulsa police to help fans cross 11th street. This can be dangerous, especially at night. I agree better lighting around the southside of the arena is needed. This is another example of needing a better fan experience.

There is a lot of improvement needed in many areas of the overall TU basketball program.

That's general b.s. The only thing they are doing different is no policeman to cross the street. The rest of it is the same as it always has been. This letters to the editor thing is crap. Nice way to pick and choose at the World, 🌎 to express their disdain TU.

If we had another coach, would Thompson be here?

guessing he knew Frank's time was limited?

No. He wants the lights and big atmosphere. Stupid decision by him as he could have been a huge TU darling. Frank had the plan to build the team around him. Not sure how much better we would have been but he would have been the center of the team, not Horne. Now he is just a real good player on a ok team. Nothing special to give him stardom.

hard to understand why it was a bad decision by him...he is a pretty big OSU darling right now

Maybe you are right but not seeing it from where I sit. Much talk about Cisse and Likle. Im not in Stillwater but press here in Tulsa is ok. I just think he could rule Tulsa if he was the center of attention of the basketball team. Is the OSU team centered around him? Maybe just sour grapes on my part but TU just had more upside IMO.

I agree letters to the editor are often just whining & the World is no longer pro TU sports. I only read this letter because it was posted on here. Their neighborhood parking complaint is bogus. However, the dark exit on the sw side of the arena is real. I don’t remember that in past seasons.

Hopefully a new TU coach = higher attendance, better amenities & better fan attitudes!

The hell it is....Back then we had a basketball team worth watching..
We were always competing for a spot in the NCAA tourney.....

To watch those teams, having to be careful crossing the street was
worth it.....You even paid a bonus for a decent seat......

If you go online to read the sports section, it screams at you with headline status. Really aggravating that they pull bs like this. Just another way to bone us, and avoid writing anything fresh.

the primary reason crossing the street is now dangerous is because there aren't 2500 fans doing it with you at the same time and all traffic is blocked. If there is just one person trying to line up and run across, the danger goes up immensely. Make sure your tenny shoes are tied tight.

Whatever happened to Kelly Hines btw?

Supposedly she had a new assignment but I have seen her byline nowhere.
