ITS GAMEDAY!!!!! The Tulsa Men host Missouri State at the Reynolds Center this afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

There is a large slate of games on today with 10 American Conference teams in action.

Florida Atlantic takes on St. Bonaventure in the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic in Springfield, MA an our after the TU game starts. Also Jackson State take on Howard at the CP3 HBCU Challenge in Las Vegas, NV. Howard is a tough team taking Georgia Tech and Cincinnati down to the wire but eventually losing the game. Jackson State needs to be prepared for the Bison.

SMU visits Florida State and South Carolina State visits Pittsburgh as both games are on the ACC network.

Memphis hosts Clemson today at the same time as the TU game. This will be a game to watch as well.

AND ONE

Today the Bowl games start and I just realized I didn’t make the group, so my apologies for that. The NFL also starts their Saturday Scheduling with three games today. Vikings at the Bengals, 12:00 then Steelers at Colts, 3:30 and then Broncos at Lions 7:15. I will make a post on the Bowl games on the other board. That said this means that Football Season is winding down and that the Conference slate for basketball is right around the corner. Ready to see what the guys can do against the American.

GO TU!!!

I completely forgot the ESPN bowl pick-em until I got an email about it this morning. By the time I saw the email 3 games were already in progress so I just went through and picked a bunch of upsets.

Before the game I thought this was going to be an L. I have seen bits and pieces of their games and didn’t feel like we matched up well. That concern showed in the 2nd half when we couldn’t stop anything they ran offensively and the entire game on the boards.

Give the guys credit, unlike Konkol games thus far they didn’t quit. We got a few things go our way (them missing FTs and COBE’s steal bouncing off the ref) but we took advantage of it all late in the game.

A W like this can really help young teams better buyin and gain confidence. Hope it goes that way for these guys.

I hate to complain about this, but I can't believe they aren't ranked. Their worst loss was against a slightly subpar 7-4 Villanova. Their only other loss was against an undefeated Ole Miss team that should be ranked as well. They are now 3-0 versus ranked teams. If they don't make the top 25 this week, then they are getting jacked around. I don't look forward to our game with them. We will probably look like floor mops against them and FAU.

Any excuse to say bad things about TU. I will wait until we play them to assess the relative strengths of the two programs.
Eye roll. I'm sorry that I don't like having to watch us lose to ORU and UALR? Is that the kind of apology that you need?

Lots of games went down yesterday and TU got themselves a win. Ugly win, but a win is a win. Last night Jackson State beat Howard 81-74 in the CP3 HBCU Challenge. Tulsa went up only 5 in the NET and Missouri State stayed even. The big Winner was Rice jumpin 37 spots beating Northwestern State by 20. WOW.

Today’s games

Jackson State finishes off the CP3 HBCU challenge by facing North Carolina A&T in Las Vegas.

Oral Roberts travels to stoolwater to face Oklahoma State.
UTSA takes on Oregon State
North Texas Travels to Mississippi st.
UAB plays a Division 2 team in Montevallo

AND ONE

The Washington Supreme court denied the appeal of the 10 departing schools of the PAC-12 and gave full control of the conference to Oregon State and Washington State. The 10 other schools who left forfeited their voting rights and now cannot vote on what to do with the conference including sale of the assets. I am putting the link here for you to read.

No apology needed, you just need to enter a depression treatment program. It would also help if after a win you could keep your negativity to yourself. You should get together with OTF and Dirty Red and have a good cry every time we win.

The big winner yesterday was Oklahoma State laying a beat down of ORU as they jump 22 spots in the rankings. North Texas and ORU were the big Losers with the Golden knights dropping 32 spots. The Mean Green dropped 27 spots from their loss to Mississippi state.

Today’s games

South Carolina State takes on UNC Asheville
Murray State takes on Yooler.

AND ONE

Two good things happened yesterday. The Cowboys got whipped and I won my fantasy football playoff game because the Cowboys got whipped. All is right in the world until this weekend when it starts over again. For all of you in fantasy football leagues and the playoffs have started, good luck to you. Hopefully this year I can get that ring.

GO TU!!!

Kinda sad that we started rebuilding around the same time they did and they’re that far ahead of us.
You can donate some money to help out? SMU gets a lot more donor money from alumni than we do for athletics. And hiring Larry Brown to cheat to prominence helped too.

I'm not happy where we are at but at this point it is what it is.

It is what it is?

Haith left Konkol an absolute DUMPSTER FIRE last season. We are exactly where I thought we would be in year 2. Year 3 is when I expect us to be a bubble team.

All depends if we can retain our best players in today's world. "Recruit, Retain, Win"

I was referring to since Haith came in to now, since aston was comparing us to SMU. Not blaming Konkol when I say I'm not happy where we are at -- it stems more from Haith being kept longer than he should've been but that's a conversation that has been discussed ad nauseum on here.

I, too, expect next year to be a bubble team.

He doesn't give a dime until the product is producing, and only then can you hope to get 10 cents a year out of him.

Totally agree with this. Not sure we have the alumni base to make up the difference though.

If Tulsa wants to win, it’s going to have to take the Moneyball approach.

”There are rich teams, there are poor teams, then there’s a hundred feet of crap… then there’s us”

🤦🏼‍♂️

It's funny how your adjectives and descriptions portray us even more negatively than we are. Don't pretend you are a realist. You enjoy being more than realistic. The girls you've dated in life must be real pieces of work. You are a sadomasochist in your opinions of TU athletics. Nobody cares for it, but you already know that.

And you agreeing with CMullins when you have said you won't give a dime until the product improves, makes your comment to CMullins that much more amusing. Does it apply to everyone but you?

LOL! Thanks breh. I’m doing just fine for myself. I appreciate your interest though.

There’s a difference between realities and just choosing to be a negative Nancy about every single thing no matter what.

Just because someone chooses to not be miserable and find every single negative (even manufactured negatives) in every situation doesn’t mean they will “have trouble succeeding in life”

GTFO with that nonsense

For as mediocre as Jankovich was, SMU finished 56 and 62 in KenPom his last 2 years. They were a 1-seed in the NIT.

Lanier has done a nice job so far, but while their rebuild may have started at the same time as us, it definitely didn’t start at the same place as us.
