I've had a feeling that our Q1 offense struggled and I fear it could be the difference against Cincy. To make sure it wasn't just in my head I ran some quick numbers this evening, please check my work:

Tulsa Q1 points for 2020: 12. A safety against UCF, a field goal against ECU (after ECU fumbled on their 40), and a TD against USF (33 yard TD pass!).
Opponent Q1 points: 46

Tulsa Q2: 44
Op Q2: 30

Tulsa Q3: 65
OP Q3: 30

Tulsa Q4 + OT: 73
OP Q4 + OT: 33

Tulsa's defense is fairly consistent, particularly when you factor in offensive struggles in Q1. I'd guess if we factored in time of possession and starting position to scoring, the math would show even more consistency. Go Tulsa defense!

I need help understanding what is going on in Q1, or the first half in general. We are putting ourselves in a hole and we won't always be able to dig ourselves out. So... what's going wrong with the offense in Q1? Has anyone asked the OC?

Discuss!
