Frank Haith was seen watching Isaiah Hill and his Compton Magic teammates last night in Las Vegas, as Compton won a hard fought OT battle between the nation’s top 2 AAU teams. Compton is the top ranked team on the Adidas Circuit and Team Takeover (DC area team) is the top ranked team on the Nike circuit.

Hill hit a game tying 3-pointer with 40 seconds remaining to send the game to OT, where Compton won in a thriller.

A total of 12 Rivals-ranked players from the 2019 and 2020 classes put on a show in front of 150 college coaches including head coaches from many of the blue blood programs———————————————-

The much anticipated matchup between the Compton Magic and Team Takeover has tipped off. The amount of talent on the floor -- 12 players total ranked in either 2019 or 2020 -- playing in front of at least 150 college coaches is crazy.

The Compton Magic feature 2020's No. 3 player

Evan Mobley
, 2019 five-star big man
Onyeka Okongwu
, top 30 big man
Isaiah Mobley
, top 30 2020 wing
Johny Juzang
and four-star 2020 wing Jaylen Clark.

For Takeover, they are led by 2019 five-star big man

Armando Bacot
, 2020 five-star point guard
Jeremy Roach
, 2020 five-star big man
Hunter Dickinson
and then four-star guards
Casey Morsell
,
Anthony Harris
,
Justin Moore
and 2020 four-star wing
Terrance Williams

Hill exchange tweets with Tulsa player Chris Barnes and former Compton Magic player concerning his Tulsa offer.

Yeah baby, the player I and a lot of other fans didn't have a very good impression of, could turn out to be a dynamite find for us.(on the court and on the recruiting trail)

There seems to be some mutual interest here....Given the almost certain
fact that, assuming a level of talent deserving of the position, our PG recruit
will be given ever opportunity to start as a first year player, Hill (and others)
has to be intrigued by the opportunity....

While we have only two scholarships to give, to say that this (2019) class
is therefore not so important, would not be accurate at all....

I may have Guessed one pretty accurately for a change....There seemed
to be something different about the potential relationship....

Cudos to all involved!

Now for a strong 6'7" shooter that can rotate between the 3 and 4!!
GO TU!!

So this should be the updated scholarship grid. I'd personally like a shot blocking big, but there's enough flexibility to go a couple different directions with that last scholarship.

Thanks....Those grids are always good to refer back to when speculating on what our
next target should be....I agree with you....Either a 6-7 strong man that can play the
3 or the 4, or a shot blocking, rebounding big.....Either way, we look as if we are
improving the roster a little bit each year.........

Bakersfield (CA) Liberty point guard Isaiah Hill had a terrific summer of AAU basketball with the Compton Magic, which earned him numerous scholarship offers, including one from the University of Tulsa on July 23. The 5-foot-11 guard took an official visit to the Tulsa campus last weekend, and two days later, he announced his commitment to the Golden Hurricane.

Who wants to set the over under on how many of those 8 guys will still be at TU in 2020? We have 3 left out of 8 from the class of 2016

Heck of a question....Most of the 2016 class were HS freshmen, and several
were not exactly D-1 ready....This (2018) class have all transferred at least
once, and don't have many options left, and may not be as prone to transfer
again....Most are more experienced than the 2016 group, and possibly
more D-1 ready....

Magnay was the big loss out of that class, and I wish we still had him.....

The size of this sophomore class is going to be a BIG prob...However many
stay......

Great to see the support from Kurtz. Wish we had him to go with Hill and the rest. Now that would be s good team.

The TU teams of the 1990s and 2000s are becoming very important, many of the players are at that age or place in their careers/life where they will have their biggest influence. Keeping those relationships in a positive and open way will pay off. Many of those players have made basketball a profession in some way, others have found success in different areas.
