I'm not a member of the pay board but I've seen some posts circulating. I'll say this right now, Gold * has lost his EVERY LOVING mind every time he posts. Wanting to fire Konkol now? Yea, great idea. Let's fire him based on Haith and without every getting to recruit. Most ridiculous crap I've ever read on this board.

I’ve seen that. It’s not like Gold. He’s a real intelligent guy and I’m surprised by his impatience when everyone understands it will take 2-3 years to re-establish the type program we want. Tubby and Self even had haters wanting to replace them during their first years. Self even had an embarrassing loss to Conoco Oil in an exhibition and people put paper bags over their heads near the end of the game. I walked out of one loss and an influential donor told me “we need to get rid of him now”. That same donor went to the Elite Eight game and sat next to me 3 years later.

I don’t expect Konkol to be a repeat Bill Self. We are in a tougher league (outside of the Fresno years) and the portal/ NIL things have completely changed the landscape. I think Konkol will get his type players and be very competitive but remember,Wichita State and Memphis are always going to be there trying to block our way to the NCAA. Can we make the NCAA again? I hope so but That’s becoming tougher, even for OU and OSU.

Agreed with all of this. Will he be a repeat self? Likely not but we can hope. If we are competing for the top of the league and being discussed in the bubble/post season talk then I will be happy and going on a run here and there. Gold has seemingly gone off the deep end about TU (I know him as well and he's a super smart dude) and it's puzzling. But, he will come back sooner than later. The impatience is so baffling to me; look, this season has sucked but in a situation as ours I think it was neccessary for a complete tear down before the house is built back up.

Last 10 minutes of the Memphis/Houston game has been quality. Houston with a 2pt lead and the ball, 38 seconds left.

Based on how Memphis has played this game they deserve a bid. Memphis' D is really stout.

The finish by Davis to tie the game was pretty special too. Man I hope we get back to playing meaningful games at this level again.
This whole game was exciting and is exactly what I needed to get ready for the Tournament!!!

I cannot bring myself to watch other AAC teams right now.

If Tulane loses and Cinci wins then Cinci is the 3 seed.
I believe you are wrong there. If they all end up tied in this situation, then Temple holds the tiebreaker over Cincinnati & Tulane w there win over Houston. And Tulane holds the tiebreaker over Cincinnati w/ their two wins over Memphis vs Cincinnati's two losses to Memphis. It should be 3 Temple, 4 Tulane, and 5 Cincinnati in that situation.

USF, UCF, Wichita, E Carolina, & SMU are all predicated on who ends up in the 3, 4, and 5 seed for tiebreaker in case any of those teams tie. The only team I don't think we can get in the tourney is UCF, due to every permutation of tie breakers and records. I believe we are going to get USF & or Wichita St. But don't quote me on that my memory on how all the permutations of tiebreakers worked out with them is a little hazy. That was all so complicated that it was a little difficult to keep it straight in my memory.

It must be Frank's Zone defense?

Looks like Wichita is making it immaterial what everybody else does, on who we play in tourney by beating USF soundly. Up by 20 w/ 2 min to go.

Looks like the seeding will stay exactly as is before the games today. Interesting how that happened. Except Temple has a chance to come back on Tulane. 7 pt game, 5min left.

Got to within 2, but Tulane pulled it out in the last couple of minutes. Tulane fouled a three pt shooter with 40 seconds to go leading by three! They went one of three but Temple got the rebound on the final free throw and got a three pointer to go ahead. Tulane is very lucky this went there way.

Everything remains the same. Believe it or not there is not one team tied in the standings now. No need to go through the permutations of tiebreakers with anybody.

We actually have the best schedule for a losing team I have seen. Wichita, and Tulane for the first (maybe) two games. We played both well at times. We don't match up well with anyone else.

I find it kind of spooky that every team finished within one game of the one above or below them. Except for us and Houston, as bookends.(in first and last place) with the same record as each other, only reversed. Every team in the league has a bookend, in order. 2Memphis(13-5) 10SMU(5-13), until you get to the team in the middle that we play, Wichita St.(9- 9)

What a strange symmetrical finish to a league who hardly had a seed locked down.(only 3 before today)

God I don't want us to win a game, much less two. Please let this season be over quickly and mercifully.

Can we just forfeit? 😁 What would happen if we just literally laid(all five players) down on the court the entire game? It would be what we have been doing all season long.

Well I go to New York on Friday so I hope they are out as well. I won’t be able to watch if they win

The Dockery Finch message board had 13,000 views today of their Memphis/Houston Game thread. Chris what is our top ?

It would be nice for the guys to get a win, maybe they feel a little better. I give it a 2% chance.

Nah...Memphis played their typical gritty and physical man defense but they also go and get the basketball when it's loose whether it's a rebound or a loose ball. They actually play a style very similar to what Houston plays without the polish. Kendric Davis has made a world of difference for them because they now have a legit 3 pt shooting threat who'll blow by you if you try to take the 3 pt line away from him. He's a damn good player.
