January 23, 2008 we played number 1 Memphis at the Reynolds center. Tulsa lost 56-41

We got a Win yesterday and that is all I can ask for at this moment. We are still playing sloppy in a lot of areas but the guys are playing hard. I like it.

LOTS OF MOVEMENT IN THE NET!!!!!!!

Tulane moved up 43 spots after beating Buffalo on the road by 25 points.
Temple dropped 33 points after losing to Penn on the road by 20 points.
Murray State dropped 32 spots by losing by 11 to Bellarmine who had a 278 NET.
Loyola Chicago went up 48 spots after beating Clemson on the road by 18.

In todays games, Oklahoma State takes on Virginia Tech in Brooklyn, NY at the Hall of Fame Invitational.
Rice visits Texas this evening.

Tulsa women host Central Arkansas at the Reynolds center. Hope we can get them some support.

The final 4 are set for the World cup including the Cinderella team in Morocco!!!! Croatia, Argentina and France also advance to the final 4. I am pulling for a Croatia vs Morocco final as I am all about the underdogs.

Last night Rice who had a 248 NET took Texas (NET 2) into overtime. Texas pulled away in overtime but the loss still moved the Owls up 23 spots in the NET.

Todays games

Memphis travels to Tuscaloosa to take on the Alabama team that just took down Houston.

Houston gets a bounce back game against NC A&T in the frittata. I am sure the coog tool will be in full effect.

Wichita State hosts Tulsa’s next opponent in Mississippi Valley State. This will be a good game to watch in prep for Tulsa’s next game.

And One

It was reported today that Mike Leach, The Head Football Coach at Mississippi State, had a heart attack and passed away. It was reported by several sites that he was down for about 10 minutes without aid, then they used the defibrillator and got a rhythm for his heart. Apparently, there was Brian damage done during that point. I am not a medical professional so I don’t know what the stats are for response, brain damage and such. I don’t know the guy personally and never met him but this saddens me a lot because he has been such a big figure to all that follow college football closely with his personality.

RIP Coach.
