False. We will win all games at home and win 1-2 on the road. This year will be what we expected and next year will be a big jump with experience. Go away clown.

Anyone who thought this year was going to be a run at the ncaa tournament was smoking something pretty damn strong. Are there some things to be upset about? Sure there are. The prediction of around .500, as several knowledgeable folks said at the beginning of the season, is still well within reach.

We haven't already qualified for the tourney? I thought playing Memphis close was an automatic qualifier?

I'm just surfing everybody's feelings after the Memphis game.

Don’t get me wrong, that Memphis game was as fun as you can get without actually winning. There were a lot of positives to build on and some flashes of what could be… we just aren’t there yet.

It’ll take time but we are on the right track. Some of these people are ridiculous.

Yesterday was disappointing for both the Mens and Womens team. The second half of the Charlotte game showed what the Mens team is capable of. Don’t know what happened to the energy in the first half. Only getting 2 baskets in the first 9 minutes of the first half will do that to you on the road. That said with the efficiency we still moved up in the NET!!!

AND ONE

Big changes in the football landscape yesterday and today. Some of these are total surprises. Bill Belichick was released this morning by the Patriots, Pete Carroll is leaving the Head Coaching position and moving into the office as an Advisor and the shock of the day was Nick Saban retiring from Coaching after 17 years with Alabama. This has been an interesting 2024 so far.

Probably a conversation for it's own thread but since it was here:
I always thought BB would be given the opportunity to leave New England on his own terms. Apparently that is not happening and that sucks.

Carroll, I'm shocked at unless he didn't want to stay in the daily grind of coaching. He actually did a really good job this year in Seattle with an aging group.

Saban-not shocked to be honest. His almost weekly rants about NIL and the portal gave a clue about what he was thinking. I think there are a lot of old school coaches who feel the same way.

REPLACEMENTS FOR ALL:
New England: Probably Mike Vrabel w/ Bill O'Brien remaining OC, and Jerod Mayo being elevate to DC.
Seattle: No idea although I think Vrabel will be talked to. Maybe Eric Bienemy or even Belichick if he watns to keep coaching (that'd be weird). I expect them to talk to Harbaugh as well.
Bama: People have mentioned Norvell, but I think Bama will look first to Lane Kiffin. They might talk to Sarkisian and Bama has enough $$$ to pry him away from Texas is they really want them to. I've heard Lanning (Oregon) mentioned as well.

I actually think the remaining NFL jobs will all fall AFTER the Patriots make their hire. I think Vrabel is the guy a lot of teams will want. The only one that might not be is the Raiders. If Antonio Pierce isn't hired by them (not sure why it hasn't already happened), then he will be grabbed by another team seeking a HC pretty quickly, maybe Seattle. Washington might be a quick hire too if they're smart and hire Bienemy. BUT, BB and whether or not he coaches again is a big wild card. Which teams want to see where he is at before talking to anyone else. Atlanta and Washington are mentioned a lot with him, and Washington seems like a good fit with a new owner, BB's ties to the Naval Academy, etc.

FIU over New Mexico State 77-67

ORU over South Dakota 84-66

Eastern Kentucky over central Arkansas 86-63

Florida Atlantic and Tulane lived up to the billing. FAU edging out Tulane by 1. Today there is only one game with Rice at South Florida. Tulsa women play Saturday and Tulsa Men play Sunday.

ESPN put out a couple of days ago that the NCAA is finalizing some guidelines regarding schools and “NIL”. A couple days later Florida State is getting penalized for using NIL as a recruiting tool and some other violations. Until they establish guidelines its going to be hard to monitor the “NIL” things going on out there as most of them violate rules currently on the books.

I wonder if TU is sending the NCAA on to AJ Green b/c if it is true they "offered" him $20k to go there causing him to "decommit", and he wasn't enrolled at the time he received that offer, then OSU would be guilty of the same thing...coupled with their MAJOR basketball infraction a couple years ago for an assistant coach paying players, we'd be talking death penalty level lack of institutional control.

I feel ya. The “death penalty” thing though is not what it was when SMU got it. With the transfer portal like it is a program can rebuild very quickly as long as they have a good booster base.

Probably hundreds of violations. It will just take some fearless assistant coaches somewhere who would be willing to possibly lose a career to tape the recruits they are losing due to NIL enticements. They would be praised by the honest rule keepers.

Tulsa Men do not play until Sunday. Today though is game day for the Women as they go on the road to Florida Atlantic. FAU has a 258 Net and a record of 4-10. They should be able to win this game. Most of the teams on the GOI today are playing on the road. This does not bode well as the teams we have played generally do not do well on the road.

Tulsa has started the conference off with an 0-3 start. We cant seem to win on the road at all and our only loss at home is to #13 Memphis who we could have beaten. The team shows what it can be but tends to keep falling short in big games or on the road. Next test is against Tulane but it is at home. Lets look at the Q ratings for the rest of the schedule. If they have a “+” then they are that many from being a Q Lower, If they have a “-“ then they are that many from being a Q Higher. Tulsa is currently a Q4 game at their home and a Q3 game at the Reynolds center.
