Pulisic was stellar again today in a loss. Beautiful goal. They may have won if he had taken the two missed penalties.
And Pulisic was visibly frustrated being subbed off late. He's been one of the best players in any of the top 5 Euro leagues at the start of this campaign.
In other news Vazquez, Zendejas, and Tenneman (sp?) added to the upcoming October roster as Balogun, Weah, and De La torre are withdrawn due to injuries. Balogun's happened on Saturday in a Ligue 1 match.
Amidst all the January transfer rumors about Pulisic moving to Liverpool or Man United during the January window, Herculez Gomez made a compelling argument for him to stay at Milan. Right now he has a coach who has extreme confidence in him and is sort of building the squad around him. Milan has other really good players but when Pulisic is on, those players become even better. Liverpool and United (especially United) are finicky places with finicky fans and if you're not producing at the level they think you should be producing they can turn on you quickly and things go south for players who struggle at United in a hurry (see Pogba, Paul). And United is always a tenuous situation at best for players and managers. Liverpool might be in a better place but my guess is in 2-3 years they're going to hit the struggle bus as their core is aging. Van Dijk, Salah, Robertson. They'll still reload and be good but they might not challenge for UCL every season like I've been accustomed to. And I'll be honest, I watch Pulisic play and I watch Salah play and there are a lot of positive comparisons to their styles. Pulisic may have more pace actually so I can definitely see why he's been linked to there.
But Gomez is right...why give up what you have done at Milan to go to a place that is maybe marginally better...and the reason should be more than just $. Milan has embraced him.
Also, McKennie had a stellar game last week for Juventus in Europa League...made a monster track back run to have a tackle the coach at Juve called "game saving" which then got turned around into the winning goal for Juventus. Fans love him there, and the coach is seemingly singing his praises for his work ethic and commitment....so it's still puzzling why Juve has been trying to move him the last couple of seasons.
