Our new MNT coach might cast an eye on the English Championship season which started yesterday. A couple of strikers always out of favor with Burrhalter are off to rousing starts. Haji Wright scores a brace including the game winner for Coventry City and Josh Sargent misses 4 good chances in the 1st half, but scores & gets an assist in the 2nd vs Blackburn Rovers this morning.

I have no doubt that Pochettino can identify the best players and will use them. These 2 might be there at the end.

I don’t follow trades so I was surprised when I tuned into the Fulham game yesterday and found out that Ream was now in the MLS.

Ream's 37 and probably wasn't going to play as much for Fulham this season and asked to come home to MLS which Fulham agreed to do for him. That's a good get for the domestic league. There are several rumors out there about Sargent coming to MLS as well but Norwich wants $22M for him. I believe there is a German side and an EPL side (Brentford maybe, especially if Toney leaves) also inquiring about Sargent.

Blackburn Rovers? Back in the Championship?

I thought they were fallen to league two not long ago. Nice to see a historic club back at a higher level.

God, I so wish relegation would come around. It is the reason these MLS clubs are going for insane prices. Monopolies are awesome.

Blackburn was in the hunt for the promotion playoff until a late swoon from them.

Sarge gets his 2nd in 4 games to start the season. He looks so good this early that, if staying healthy, he'll approach 20 goals and maybe get looks from bigger teams. At least a call up and some starts for our new coach.

Pulisic opens his account for Milan today in a 2-1 loss to a just promoted Parma. His 1st game he played the 10 and today back at his right wing spot. Fonseca, the new Milan coach, has his work cut out. The Devils look discombobulated in defense but surely will improve. It better be quick.

Pulisic looked good as usual but that defense was horrific. Not only wasn’t the effort there but on that second goal the two players back looked like the didn’t know their positions.

Lots of criticism today in the press over Rafa Leao (left wing) and Theo Hernandez (left back) and their game vs Parma. Milan are valuing these 2 jokers at 140 mill.+ euros. Should have sold them for that in this recent xfer window and bought some real players. And there were some inquiries from other big clubs, including Barca.

Another Yank in the English Champ. equaling Sargent & Wright is......Brendan Aaronson! Also 2 goals in 4 games for Leeds. Yes, he's back with Leeds & starting in central midfield. As usual, he is all over the pitch, harassing the ball. Maybe he has found his scoring shoes, but it's early.

Pulisic scored again today in the 10' of the Milan derby in Italy. I think I saw something this week that out of all players in Italian clubs, he has the most goal contributions since joining Milan last season.

CP has scored in 3 games in a row and may have helped Milan's new coach save his job. Apparently, Inter vs Milan is one of the wildest derby's on the planet. 76k in attendance today and Milan fans are very, very happy.

Another Yank in Serie A also scored for Venice in their 1st win out of 5 games and he might surprise some people....Gian Luca Busio. Unfortunately for Busio, his team has just been promoted and they will likely be demoted.....again.

Super exciting match AC Milan vs Inter.

Worth watching the replay on paramount plus if you can.

If he goes elsewhere, I hope it's Liverpool. Either place, his income will rise accordingly.

Saw a rumor that both Liverpool and United are hoping to land Jedi during the January window. I would love to see Jedi at Anfield. They are always needing an injury replacement for Robertson it seems and they're also planning for the long term replacement. I like Tsimikas but he is on the slighter side when it comes to being a fullback.

United is a trainwreck in the back and not likely to improve any time soon...and part of that is outside of Bruno, they have no MFs who are at that level in holding and distributing the ball which makes for many mistakes coming out of the back for them.

Selfishly, I want him at United. I grew up a United fan in the era of Keane, Scholes, Giggs, and Beckham. They are a train wreck. Casemiro is heading to Jose Altidore status and just does not care at times. He needs to go.

Jedi would be better off at Liverpool.

I live in household of Arsenal fans and they are way more fun to watch and I love arteta. The Amazon arsenal documentary is the best in-season follow ever. Watching that team turnaround from the depths of despair to and him having the balls to sack and ship out Aubameyang. Areta seems like a great motivator.

Jedi would make Manchester better but he would become better at Liverpool. No player has gotten better Haag. None. Zero.

If it's Jedi to Liverpool, he also has a better chance at Champions League with them. Fulham always remains mid-level in the EPL and like Bla says, United is a train wreck. Early on, maybe Man U. might make the Europa League, but that's it.

Today, for example, Man U. are in this year's Europa League and played something called "Twente" (Dutch maybe?) and could only manage a 1-1 tie.

He's scored in his last 5 matches (4 Serie A matches and the US' March vs New Zealand). Scoring in 5 straight is pretty world class.
Next match Champions League 2 pm Tuesday Paramount plus.

Sarge scores for Norwich City this morning and should have had 2 assists as he set up 2 teammates with 1 on 1's vs Hull City goalie & both guys blew the scoring chance. Pitiful! Sargent will be our starting center forward in those 2 friendlies coming up. Mark it down.

Pulisic was stellar again today in a loss. Beautiful goal. They may have won if he had taken the two missed penalties.

And Pulisic was visibly frustrated being subbed off late. He's been one of the best players in any of the top 5 Euro leagues at the start of this campaign.

In other news Vazquez, Zendejas, and Tenneman (sp?) added to the upcoming October roster as Balogun, Weah, and De La torre are withdrawn due to injuries. Balogun's happened on Saturday in a Ligue 1 match.

Amidst all the January transfer rumors about Pulisic moving to Liverpool or Man United during the January window, Herculez Gomez made a compelling argument for him to stay at Milan. Right now he has a coach who has extreme confidence in him and is sort of building the squad around him. Milan has other really good players but when Pulisic is on, those players become even better. Liverpool and United (especially United) are finicky places with finicky fans and if you're not producing at the level they think you should be producing they can turn on you quickly and things go south for players who struggle at United in a hurry (see Pogba, Paul). And United is always a tenuous situation at best for players and managers. Liverpool might be in a better place but my guess is in 2-3 years they're going to hit the struggle bus as their core is aging. Van Dijk, Salah, Robertson. They'll still reload and be good but they might not challenge for UCL every season like I've been accustomed to. And I'll be honest, I watch Pulisic play and I watch Salah play and there are a lot of positive comparisons to their styles. Pulisic may have more pace actually so I can definitely see why he's been linked to there.

But Gomez is right...why give up what you have done at Milan to go to a place that is maybe marginally better...and the reason should be more than just $. Milan has embraced him.

Also, McKennie had a stellar game last week for Juventus in Europa League...made a monster track back run to have a tackle the coach at Juve called "game saving" which then got turned around into the winning goal for Juventus. Fans love him there, and the coach is seemingly singing his praises for his work ethic and commitment....so it's still puzzling why Juve has been trying to move him the last couple of seasons.

Sounds like Fonseca has anointed Pulisic as the leader of the team, at least offensively and he wants him to take command of situations. Not sure if he has been given the captain's armband but this almost seems like Fonseca's challenge to be more than just a good player. It certainly sounds like Fonseca thinks Pulisic can be great and wants him to seize that. I can only see this as helping Pulisic in his role with the USMNT. It's been said that the USMNT locker room lacked true leadership. Sure you've got a bunch of hotheads that will rush to Pulisic's side when Mexico is trying to kill him, but who's the vocal leader to get them refocused after a disappointing or lackluster start? Why Berhlater or anyone else haven't challenged Pulisic to do that before now. Sounds like the USMNT may get an assist from Fonseca in this area.

10 assists last season. His new coach (Motta) will likely stop this transfer business, tout de suite. Bla is right, McKinnie saved Juve's bacon with that brilliant defensive tackle that prevented a 1 on 1 with his goalie.
I don't understand why Fonseca "warned" CP not to give away PK tries, and apparently didn't warn Abraham & Hernandez and the rest of the team that if the ball is handed to someone else there would be consequences.

I know CP doesn't want a scene on the pitch where he's trying to snatch the ball and a tug of war erupts. Wonder what went on in the locker room after 2 PK misses and a 2-1 loss. Has Fonseca lost this team already? If the alleged stars on this team continue to disrespect their current best player (6 goals, 2 assists in 9 games), it might be time to consider a move back to the Prem. with hopefully, Liverpool. CP's goal yesterday was spectacular. A lobbed cross comes in from the left flank, Pulisic races 20 yards to his near post, kicks his leg out and dinks the ball back to the far post and softly into the top corner. Wow!

I was wondering why they gave the penalties to Theo and Abraham. Theo is 4/7 on penalties now! He has the armband.

Sound like it was a lack of assertiveness from Pulisic - that he is the designated penalty taker.

Well, it should be absolutely crystal clear about who on AC Milan takes a PK if he is on the field from here on out. I didn't realize that Pulisic is 10/10 in his last ten PK between club and country. And I suspect you're right...Pulisic simply isn't/wasn't assertive enough in those situations. I get the feeling he is a reluctant leader. He's still fairly young and I don't think he ever craved that leadership role or the attention he gets for his talent. It's clear Berhalter never leaned on him that way which explains why the US has had issues with guys getting dumb ass red cards (McKennie, Weah) because there's no actual on field leadership. Which is why I think Fonseca's clear directive to Pulisic is to be a leader and be assertive.
