Don't blame Haith....

TK had great form on his two tournament free throws. Completely different than a few days before.

The women also have a larger margin for error since they're using a smaller ball. That said I see no reason for some of the horrid FT shooting (especially from guards) I see in the men's game.

Bla, I've seen you mention that floater before. I just don't think it's going to happen. There are extremely few guards who can make that shot reliably and it would be more beneficial for Shaq to be in the gym at the 3 point line all summer. As soon as people can't sag on him he won't have any problem getting to the rim anyways. I seriously have begun to wonder if it's a vision thing though. His mechanics are more than good enought to be a high 30% outside shooter. It seems to me like his depth perception might not quite be right. I wonder if he needs contacts?

I don't think Wright was used properly this season. Maybe he had to play on the lower block to spell Swanny until the staff gained more confidence in Edogi. However, as the season wore on, it was evident that Wright is a small forward who needs to play facing to the basket. His game should be mid-range and open 3-pt jumpers and drives to the basket. I thought some of the best high-low ball movement was during time both Wright and Swanny were on the same court at the same time.

This problem goes back to inheriting a team without developed low post player. IMO it's time to cut Big E loose and go find a JUCO big, and hit the grapevine to find out which skilled Fresh / Soph bigs from the power conferences not happy and are interested in transferring. A couple of these 2016 schooly's need to earmarked for transfers.

I think most of the members of this board have too much love for Dre. Everyone, including me, is enamored with his height, weight, and very smooth outside shot (both at the line and from 3). However, he has rarely played anywhere near his ability. The UCLA game we all hoped was the beginning of the new Dre, turns out to be an anomaly. This year was no better than last or the year before. He can't dribble, his post moves are high school level, he makes himself small in the post, constantly makes poor defensive decisions resulting in numerous fouls, and he has never mastered positioning for rebounds. He and Swanny have gotten better at blocking out so that our guards can rebound. (we probably have the best rebounding guards in the conference and I'm including Ray.)

Dre will NEVER be a 3. He might be an adequate 4 if he can learn to take three dribbles to the basket without lowering his shoulder. We have lived and died by our center for many years now. We need a major upgrade in talent there. Swanny is a decent backup because of his energy and shot blocking. TJ also has the energy and seems to have a feel around the basket but he is limited in size and would be out-manned inside if he had to face quality centers nightly. Plus the outside shot isn't there yet.

Look at the centers for UConn, SMU, Cinn. Tall lanky kids who contest every shot, go for every block and rebound and don't foul out nightly. Dre spends more time on the bench than playing, making his low scoring and rebounding averages sad for a man with his size and potential. However potential is just that, a possibility, not a promise. It takes work, training, and some luck. With only one year left we may have to live with what we have in him. Time to find the next big is now.
