2024-2025 Men's Schedule

I wouldnā€™t put Austin Peay in the same category as Detroit Mercy and Georgia State. Austin Peay was 19-16 last year and added LJ Thomas from NC State and Quan Lax, an NAIA All-American. Iā€™m glad we are playing the other two.
I donā€™t follow much college basketball anymore, but have we really reached the point where weā€™re relieved to not have to play Austin Peay.

People used to laugh at McNeese and Florida Atlantic......they don't anymore..... With one prominent NIL booster , now any program can emerge from years in the darkness.

Most of our home non conference games will be on ESPN+ too (OSU might get an actual tv slot).

The neutral site and away games are another storyā€¦ as I mentioned before, the MTE games will only be streamed on some weird bush league website, not sure about the UCF game but hoping for ESPN+, at Missouri state is a ?, and at Loyola Chicago is on an RSN (marquee sports) only available on tv in the Chicago area or by subscription online šŸ™„.

I know people complain about ESPN+ sometimes but itā€™s a hell of a lot better than being stuck on an RSN that no one outside the state would have knowledge of, let alone access to.

It's an exhibition, but wowzer that's a helluva a stat line...

I hope that exhibition made a sh!t ton of money for St. Jude!

Stop here if you don't want to hear the really watered down personal connection, but I always feel it important to tell it every time I have the opportunity.... Upfront, the constant commercials drive me nuts, and in turn bring me to tears too often, but they do incredible work during the most difficult of times caring for those kids. One of their doctors at St. Francis oversees the local care of two of my grandsons that likely wouldn't be with us today if she wasn't so thorough and driven she's an Oncologist, and they didn't have cancer, but she refused to give up and made figuring it out an obsession. Their condition is incredibly rare, to the tune of 1 in 500,000 and treatment wasn't possible at St. Jude's, but she's connected with folks the Cincinnati Children's, where the top researcher on their condition practice, and she has stayed on the case the last four years. In short, I wouldn't be enjoying my 9 and 12 year old grandsons without St. Jude's.

I have a relative who also had to go to Cinci to treat her very young daughter. Successfully.

That's wonderful! Cincinnati Children's is a damn fine hospital.... Success four years post transplant for our boys, there will always be continuing care and challenges with the genetic disease for which they received their transplants. Praise God for facilities such as these and the outstanding staffs that provide patient care.

Little girl had an exceptionally rare cancer and seems to have beaten it

My grandsons each have a rare genetic disease that's treated much like cancer, with bone marrow transplants being the treatment. Due to the struggle in determining the genetic disease and it's progression the younger acquired an additional nasty disease called HLH that was triggered by the genetic disease. That little guy has fortunately defied all of the odds as he fought the disease and throughout his treatment, making him the subject of a great deal of ongoing research that we hope will benefit many others down the road.

The scrimmage is today? Don't remember anybody knowing who we are playing. Any clues?

Posted in another thread but weā€™re playing in KC. Against who? Not sure, but I know weā€™re meeting another team there to scrimmage.

Georgia beat Charlotte in their Charity exhibition 86-59. UCF beat Florida Gulf Coast in their Exhibition 92-78. UCF has one more against Georgia on the 29th.

Wichita State over Emporia State 99-53

WSUā€™s defense held Emporia State to 0.78 points per possession, as the Hornets shot 35% from the field and committed 13 turnovers (for a 19% turnover rate).

Shockers have emphasized defense this summer, as well as three point shooting. Last year Harlond Beverly, Bijan Cortes and Bell combined to shoot 25.7% (44 of 171) on 3-pointers.
According to WSU coach Paul Mills, all three have improved their accuracy this summer. On Sunday, the results matched with the trio combining to knock down 66.7% (6 of 9) of their triples against Emporia State.
