Very excited for Softball season to be starting up. My catcher-girl will be playing on a tournament team and I'll be busy following that most weekends, but will definitely try to keep up with the Tulsa box score and post results.

Tulsa has a solid returning core. Pitching/defense will have a different focus because Bailey Erwin and Catlin Sill probably will not strike out 10+ batters a game like Aimee Creger did last year. The outfield will not be able to play back at no doubles depth and limit the damage on rare mistakes, but both Erwin and Sill had solid ERA numbers and will be fine.

Offensive looks solid up and down the line up Batting Average wise and with power from Erica Sampson and Julie Kernen

Tulsa is in the preseason National Rankings in both polls at 21/22 and picked second behind UCF in the conference.

Season begins at the Grand Canyon University Kickoff in Phoenix on Friday 2/6

Friday
Santa Clara 1:30pm
Grand Canyon 4:00pm
Saturday
Santa Clara 11:00 am
Grand Canyon 6:30pm
Sunday

Wishing the 2015 TU squad a successful season...............Lot's of local/regional talent on this team.

On a side note.............My daughter is starting her senior season...........I'm sure plenty of tears are in our future.

You're welcome. I'm just a weird box score nerd.

I hope to make it out to the game in Denton in a couple of weeks!

I appreciate it as well. I am hoping to get my niece a Scholly at TU for softball. She is only 14 right now but is amazing. Plays on an extremely competitive team and probably their best player, biased aside.

The Tulsa Tournament for 2/27-3/1 is officially been canceled. No surprises. This is one way the conference player of the week won't be from Tulsa

That's awesome, good luck to your niece, those D1 scholly offers are a very competitive crowded market. We just made the jump to the select leagues and wow these people are crazy. As your Tax Guy I can tell you there are better investment vehicles for paying for a college education, but not nearly as fun.

I coached a very competive baseball team for 8 years until they hit school ball. My best friend coached his twin girls softball team over that same period. Youth baseball has nothing on softball when it comes to competitiveness and crazy parents. There are some very impressive competive teams in this area.

Oklahoma really is the Mecca for softball. So many good leagues and tournaments. I was just scorekeeper for the 18U Gold Tournament this last year in Broken Arrow. (Gives out the national title, highest tournament).
