John Fetterman

I got interested in this Fetterman vs. Oz race and watched some of the debate, and then I've watched Fetterman on a couple other recent TV appearances. I've watched a man, Fetterman, who recently had a stroke and cannot put sentences together went put under pressure. I feel very sorry for him as a human being...the debate was very difficult to watch.

Some things I don't understand are (1) why he is still running, (2) why anyone would vote for someone with a recent stroke that is incapable of clear thought in tough situations and will not produce his medical records, (3) why would anyone vote for a guy that blatantly lied at the debate when confronted with his anti-fracking statements ("I don't support fracking at all) and then said, "I do support fracking...and...I don't, I don't...I support fracking, and I stand, and I do support fracking."

Please someone explain how he is still a viable candidate? And why in the world would Oprah Winfrey put her support behind someone that just blatantly lied on national TV and cannot think properly due to medical conditions? I mean really. I don't see a plausible explanation at all. This is mind-boggling.

Official Oregon State Prediction Thread

First game of the Coach K era. The other Coach K has retired, so there shouldn’t be any confusion.

Hard to know what we will see. Let’s hope it’s the opposite of that crappy complicated defense we could never grasp.

In fairness to the previous staff, they didn’t leave the cupboard completely bare. It’s up to this staff to coach them up.

Bonus Kendall Prediction: Sam Griffin will be glad he stayed.

📝 Larry Lewis PREVIEW: Sam Griffin and Tulsa begin Eric Konkol era versus Oregon State

Getting Sam Griffin to stay in Tulsa was critical for new head coach Eric Konkol. It helped that Konkol had tried to recruit the dynamic Griffin before. Griffin, who was briefly in the transfer portal after Frank Haith resigned at TU, was quickly convinced to stay after talking with Konkol. But Griffin also had other reasons.

Everyone should sit on the East side for the South Fladda game

We could fool the viewing audience into thinking we have decent attendance.

The attendance for yesterday's game was announced at 15K. Roughly half of that number was the actual headcount I would guess. The final game will probably be even lower. There would be plenty of room for everyone on the east side.

The only problem is that there will probably be fewer people watching on tv than will actually be at the stadium, even though a spot in the Bottom 10 may be on the line.

Inequality rising in US

According to the Congressional Budget office from 1990 to 2019 wealth held by the bottom 50% of the US population decreased from 4% to 2.%. The wealth those in the 50% to 90% range also decreased, while the wealth of the top 10% increased to nearly 70% of US wealth. The top 1% owns 34% of total US wealth. This data is consistent with slightly older data from the Fed.

Wealth inequality undermines faith in democracy and fuels the appeal of authoritarianism and populism which promise results based on their personal power. Our elections are driven increasingly by money resulting in legislators who are responsive to those who can financially support them. Unless we get money out of our electoral system, we will continue down this path.

Reposting on the free board, about watching the Oregon St v Tulsa game.

My apologies if this question has already been answered. Where can we watch the TU basketball game next week? Cheers.
Hopefully, however you receive(?) the PAC network will be your route.

Question to ask:
Do you have tv through vidgo or fubo?
If the answer is yes, then smooth sailing no matter what.
If you have one of these two subscription services, then it doesn't matter whether it's on the live broadcast on the service you get. If it isn't on the national broadcast with either fubo or vidgo, then you can download the Pac12 now app and watch the Pac12 Oregon broadcast free of charge on the app. The cost of signing up for vidgo or fubo, just for this game are slightly prohibitive.($60/$70 per month) Fubo tv presently offers a free 7 day trial, which is what I might do, if the national broadcast is not us.

I believe Spectrum, Cox, Dish, and Infinity have access to the Pac12 now app because they were listed as providers on the Pac12 now app's page. But I did not see anything addressing this issue directly with them, so don't quote me on this.

The bad:
If you have sling, then I believe you are out of luck if it's not on the national broadcast. Sling does not have access to the Pac12 now app. (To get the national broadcast, I believe you have to get orange. Not sure though since I'm not resigning up until later on.)

They did not mention youtubetv's access, and I don't even think they offer Pac12 network on Youtube. If they do though, I have a feeling it is in the same boat as sling.

At the moment they are not acting as if the live network will be playing anything on the 7th(at that time) but a bunch of old football bs. They say they will be rebroadcasting the game at midnight Teu/Wed(8th/9th) So Fubo might be getting a lot of free trials out of us that night.

These are the games we will be competing with for the national broadcast that night.
