NIL issues aren't just for the little guys

Nobody in charge cares about the non-P2/3/4 teams, but this is a problem for them that might get some action. If the middle of the Big 10 can't be competitive, it's going to suck attention away from "college" sports. This is one reason the traditional pro leagues have some form of salary caps and revenue sharing, few people want to watch a league where only 25% of the teams have any realistic chance of winning and most fans' teams are eliminate before the season starts.

Since Bla mentions Luton Town as winner of that EFL playoff last season, they are a prime example of Huffy's comment. Ethan Horvath, as their starting goalie, helps lead Luton Town to promotion to the Prem and they promptly sell him. I'm not saying Horvath is a quality enough goalie to hack it in the EPL, but he could have been better than the guy they bought. Luton has a couple games left in the season and they are 3 points deep in the bottom three. They might pull it out & survive but will likely go straight back down to the EFL . If so, at least they have all those tech upgrades to play with in their dinky little stadium.

The team above them is Nottingham Forest with Gio Reyna. They're a train wreck also, although they'll probably stay up & send Luton down.
Forest is a wreck because they kept blaming the GKs and bringing in new guys and didn't look hard enough at the defense. Same with Luton. Luton has scored only 3 fewer goals than ManU, yet they're languishing at the bottom of the table because they can't stop anyone from scoring. Right now, between Forest and Luton, you could have Courtouis, Oblak, Donnarumma, or Neuer back there for any of them and they likely would not have improved their placement. Forest blamed Turner so they brought in the Ukranian guy...who couldn't stop anything so they brought in Sels, who can't stop anything. Well they do stop shots, they can't prevent all the shots from happening which is on the defense.

I honestly think we might that might change with that expansion of the VA, OSU-Tulsa, OU-Tulsa Medical and OU Polytechnic. OU medical is getting ready drop over 150M in campus expansion of cancer stuff.
The VA thing was not state government. the OU and OSU initiatives are good, but it's not really legislatively driven IMO (though I acknowedge there is some legislative approval for funding). It's simply those universities seeing opportunity. The federal tech hub designation for autonomous craft presents a nice opportunity for them in Tulsa. The cancer center was greatly needed BTW and I am delighted to see it.

I don't want to be a broken record. As a practical point, we need local push to get others to pay attention. Maybe the new mayor will feel it's important. I am guessing Karen Keith has the inside track and I don't know her position on passenger rail. Like I said, I have traded emails with Monroe Nichols and he is a big advocate. It's not the only issue of importance to me, but it's a factor as to why Monroe is getting my vote.

UTR NIT Tennis Results. Women

From what I can tell tournament of the top teams that don’t make NCAA.

Looks like a cba type of tourney in tennis. No ranked teams in women's? Four top seeded men's teams ranked in the 50's and 60's.(1st-Tulsa/68, 2-Pacific/60, 3-Santa Clara/59, & 3-Liberty/56)

Winning promotion voids his contract. There’s no guarantee he would go up or not be sold to buy someone else

It feels pretty clearly like an F U to Tulsa. The state, whoever that is, seems to want OKC to be a national powerhouse city and at best don't want that for Tulsa.
Your statement is a good description of the last 50+ years. Tulsa has grown to over a million population metro area with almost zero help from the state of Oklahoma. I’m not sure there’s a metro area in the US that gets less from it’s own state. .
