To say Rick Dickson's imminent departure as TU's athletic director is the end of an era is an understatement. When he retires, this time for good, as Tulsa's AD at the end of June at age 70, it will be 50 years since he first came to TU as a football player from Bishop Kelley.

We need to keep Bruce at TU as long as possible. Incredibly prepared. I could see him keep working for many more years. Not an easy job, but SID job would be really, really challenging. So many details.
Bruce’s ability to do play by play not only in FB, MBB, WBB (TV) but Softball (TV) is amazing. TV and Radio are very different types of PBP assignments, yet he handles both exceptionally well. I try to listen critically and he very rarely comes across as the level of homer that many PBP guys that work at universities do. We are fortunate.

Regarding Bruce, who is the other announcer that was covering the women’s games on the radio when Bruce was off covering men’s games? He seemed quite competent as well and could be the next person in that role in the future.
