The complex was packed but remember that this tournament usually split between Scheel's and Mohawk with the showcase teams (U15-19) being exclusively at Mohawk and the younger groups being at Scheel's). All teams were at Scheel's this time around. and there were far fewer of the older age group teams than in the past and more younger teams. The 2 TSC tournaments were among the premier regional events in this area. A lot of the teams that used to travel from KC, StL, TN, and the Austin/Houston areas no longer come because of the cancellation last Spring after 3 drops of rain fell. A lot of referees who travel to the tournament stopped doing so, and in my conversations with other refs yesterday, there's probably a lot of local referees who won't do it anymore, many citing lack of support from TSC higher ups (i.e. not enforcing red card suspensions for coaches...I was AR on a U19 game and the coach from the team from Arkansas received a RC on Saturday, known because the other AR had centered that game and issued the RC; and the ref was told it was fine that he was on the sideline....and he kept on bitching the entire game too despite the fact his team got thoroughly outplayed and gave up on the game about 60 minutes in).
Plus quite a few referees showed up for their scheduled games only to be told those games no longer existed on the TSC schedule but TSC didn't bother to give the assigners an updated schedule so it was still on the referees' schedules. I had one of those and I was pretty pissed that they wasted my time with it.
I agree; it seemed like there were far fewer older teams, and none of the top TSC teams participated.
You can be quite amusing sometimes. A rainout led them to cancel indefinitely. Did you speak directly with the Directors at Solar, NOKC, ESC, Renegades, BVB, or OEFC? I have coaching friends who have faced similar situations in baseball and soccer. I’m sure one year has caused some issues, but many of the NOKC club parents who publicly complained on Facebook after that still sent their same teams from out of town.
I have some questions:
Why don’t these teams attend the WSA tournaments?
Which of the Nine WSA intra-club scrimmages, with an admission fee of $800, should they participate in?
Can I criticize a "non-profit" that significantly supports a university known for financial misconduct involving its founder?
It’s all justified because there are 40-foot praying hands in front of it, right?
Who wins out on girl players now NL is there, Rhein bros or Praying Hands bros?
Will WSA be pissed when Tulsa finally makes the right move dismisses Rhein broskey #1?
Will Rhein broskey #1 go back to rocking out as the Bixby's head coach and achieving two semifinals in 13 years?
When Rhein Broskey #1 is dismissed, will TU be allowed on Bush's hallowed self-named complex? Will it then be self-before-side?

Blitz's tournaments seem to be growing slightly, but they still aren't of the same caliber.
Is there a group of referees holdouts due to a lack of support? I’d love to know who is spreading that around?
Our games were set for Monday and did not change. I didn’t hear anyone among the teams mention any issues. Granted, I mostly interact with the younger teams, but you make it sound like it was everywhere.
