I’m shocked WSA got NL. Ive heard 2 teams (major players) have already voted to stay at TSC if they get GA. I think people are tired of getting their brains 🧠 beat Texas ECNL. They just don’t have the depth. Plenty of girls get scholarships but play really drops off after about top 7 in each age group. I’m Texas the RL teams are tough. Good luck to WSA it a big job ahead. I haven’t seen anything they have done to deserve it.

The calls to Energy started early this am from multiple 2010 parents. That group isn’t playing GA. Not sure about the other age groups but I can’t imagine playing that GA schedule will be an option Travel and level of play will be problematic to most.

TSC didn’t tell their NL coaches ahead of the announcement btw Pretty crappy

As of last night, our coach said “no way we’re losing NL”.

2012’s best player is a 2013. And probably leaving the state. 2012’s is a problem for any club
The best 2012 g is playing with a boys team at tecnico right now.

That 13 is real good but her parents are something else.

There are several quality players on that 12 NL team. The leadership was just not there.

We just watched them play a “for fun” match with a different coach and system and every single one of them played like a completely different kid. Different group. They seemed for more cohesive and free. They weren’t fighting or bickering amongst themselves.

It just made me more mad at this whole situation tbh.

If the top players at TSC decide to stay and WSA builds NL teams from the current pool of players it’s going to get ugly fast. I’m not knocking WSA, but they don’t win at the RL level and now those teams will move to NL. Man that’s wild, OEFC is about to pick Tulsa apart and take all the talent.

I was told by a mom that there is one team at TSC where 4 of the top players will be moving to OEFC. WSA is already behind.

Texas NL is no joke. I don't think WSA can fair any better than TSC (probably worse). They may do it with more class. but at worse fields and probably not better coaches.

Wanting to move and being offered a spot are two totally different things. I’m not sure TSC has a team where four of its players would be offered by OEFC.

08s are awful
09s….maybe a couple
10s….best players have already left. I could see OEFC taking 2. 3 if the goalie transfers
11s….best players are already at OEFC. Maybe 1 or 2
12s….no clue

WSA will struggle with U13 and up. They will need to start building at the academy level with player and coach retention. Next year is going to be really rough at WSA

And those Texas teams won't be happy to travel 4-8 hours to beat teams 10-0 and play at Mohawk (Which is 30 more minutes each way than Scheels, Titan). WSA parents won't enjoy driving to Texas to get embarrassed. Many borderline NL players parents will chose RL Frontier because of the travel and competition. This is like Tulsa trying to play in the SEC.

Isn’t the top 10 playing with the 09’s, you think she will stay?

Add in the 13's because they will be NL next year. They are horrible (RL team would be rec team) and not sure they will get many TSC players because Cyp's daughter and the owner of Scheels daughter are 2 of the top players. They just qualified for Futsal nationals. They beat the FC Dallas 14's 2 weeks ago (Yes a year younger but #3 in the country) Cyp has 4 daughters at TSC. I think they are looking to stay together until high school at least.

Cyp was coaching two NL’s teams (not very well), but not sure what TSC is going to do with all these extra coaches when all these players leave.

Without NL on the girls side they can’t continue to charge these high ass fees and whatever platform they decide on next it will require a reduction in cost. What’s going to subsidize the boys NL program?

The 12s have had a terrible season, winning 1 match.

The crazy thing about it is: They have had really competitive games against some of the best teams in the nation and then just fell apart. IDK if that's a player thing or a leadership thing, but I know a lot of kids were upset about how subs happen.

Instead of playing your best 11 and subbing as needed, line ups would change, formations would change and subs would be made in groups and for playing time. My daughter was under the impression that when you got to NL, you were playing to win. But it is very much "business as usual".

Example: In Colorado, we had a real shot at walking away with a W from our second game. We all know that feeling when the team is on fire but they haven't scored...yet. They're in control of the game and it's just a matter of time, right? So imagine that, firing on all cylinders, then at 22 minutes in the first half you sub off one of you best players that's already created multiple chances for your team. So that the guest RL player can get some minutes...

Then, in the second half, you're down a goal but still looking good. Your girls are battling back and trying to get level. It's looking good. But then, for whatever reason, you sub out a defender, move that player that got subbed in the first half to right back and bring that same RL player in to play wing.

You then lose 1-0 and everyone is confused and wondering wtf just happened.

Our coach is a really nice guy and I think he can be a great coach. The girls HAVE improved under him, but he doesn't have the skills necessary to really run a group of 12 and 13 year old girls. TSC giving a first year NL team a first year coach seems like a HUGE misstep.

I just don't see a way WSA is successful. ECNL may want to give them a couple of years to figure it out but I'm not sure they can. I think it will be not only a disaster at NL but they will need the top RL players to play NL and the will make the RL teams bad. If TSC has GA and I know some think that's a bad idea but it's closer to who they are and GA has some top teams and many scouts at those showcases (Not like ECNL) players and parents will be a lot happier being able to compete. When those ECNL teams are getting crushed those GA teams will look a lot better.

GA is really good in the southeastern part of the US. Not so much in this region. Lonestar leaving GA for ECNL last year hurt this area even more. I just don’t see parents wanting to do the travel required to play GA level soccer in this region. ECRL seems to make more sense. I understand TSC’s desire to spin the loss of NL into a GA opportunity. However, without more regionally based teams I simply don’t see how GA makes sense from a travel and cost standpoint.

Other than TSC trying to spin this, why is GA a better option than ECRL? ECRL is better in this region and will require less travel than GA.

Well you just become a feeder for WSA if you go RL (Like Celtic is for Energy). GA has some top teams throughout the country and more to come I expect with MLS Next clubs. You can still sell it as a top league. I would think GA would pick up a travel partner for TSC. Travel tough? yes!! but you were going to have that at ECNL. TSC is going to try and salvage this and keep WSA from being even moderately successful. The bigger problem is the boys. ECNL would definitely pull ECNL from the boys if they leave for GA. Probably will lose in the next 12-24 months anyway. I don's see a good solution for soccer in Tulsa? One giant merger??? WSA is the leader now but they are broke. Hell, John Rhein is working at Dick's because WSA can't pay him and he's in leadership and will probably be an ECNL coach.
