Wanting to move and being offered a spot are two totally different things. I’m not sure TSC has a team where four of its players would be offered by OEFC.
08s are awful
09s….maybe a couple
10s….best players have already left. I could see OEFC taking 2. 3 if the goalie transfers
11s….best players are already at OEFC. Maybe 1 or 2
12s….no clue
WSA will struggle with U13 and up. They will need to start building at the academy level with player and coach retention. Next year is going to be really rough at WSA
The 12s have had a terrible season, winning 1 match.
The crazy thing about it is: They have had really competitive games against some of the best teams in the nation and then just fell apart. IDK if that's a player thing or a leadership thing, but I know a lot of kids were upset about how subs happen.
Instead of playing your best 11 and subbing as needed, line ups would change, formations would change and subs would be made in groups and for playing time. My daughter was under the impression that when you got to NL, you were playing to win. But it is very much "business as usual".
Example: In Colorado, we had a real shot at walking away with a W from our second game. We all know that feeling when the team is on fire but they haven't scored...yet. They're in control of the game and it's just a matter of time, right? So imagine that, firing on all cylinders, then at 22 minutes in the first half you sub off one of you best players that's already created multiple chances for your team. So that the guest RL player can get some minutes...
Then, in the second half, you're down a goal but still looking good. Your girls are battling back and trying to get level. It's looking good. But then, for whatever reason, you sub out a defender, move that player that got subbed in the first half to right back and bring that same RL player in to play wing.
You then lose 1-0 and everyone is confused and wondering wtf just happened.
Our coach is a really nice guy and I think he can be a great coach. The girls HAVE improved under him, but he doesn't have the skills necessary to really run a group of 12 and 13 year old girls. TSC giving a first year NL team a first year coach seems like a HUGE misstep.
