Breanna Stewart may get a quad-double tonight. 7 minutes in she has 4 blocked shots.

TU playing aggressive defense and challenging a lot of passes and it has resulted in a couple quick turnovers. Makes Geno unhappy. TU struggling to put the ball in though. 16-3 Huskies, 3 minutes left 1Q

They have some players who do not get the credit they deserve. The PG is a flash...she can go the length of the court in no time. They had 4 starters taller than our tallest player. Breanna Stewart elevates more on her jump shot than any player I think I've ever seen.

Midway through the 2nd quarter, UCONN's PG had a turnover and Geno called a timeout as soon as he could. Mind you, UCONN was up about 30 at the time and TU hadn't broken double digit points yet. It was during that timeout that I realized what Geno does that is different and why his team is crazy successful. They don't play against opponents. They don't play to just win games...they play to be as close to perfect as you can be...every minute, every game. Geno doesn't let up either...intensity stays the same level throughout the game.

My son saw the womens score on the ticker last night and was giving me sh!t. I tried to explain to him how good UCONN women's basketball is. I made him google their NCAA appearances and wins.

UCONN is good. Dear god, UCONN is good.

You have no idea until you see them in person. I swear Breanna Stewart has a 30" vertical on her jump shots. At 6'3", she is already taller than every player on TUs roster so that 15 footer from the foul line is indefensible. She could have easily gone for 40 last night. I honestly thought she would get a quadruple double as she had 3 blocks in the opening minutes of the game. She has the greatest arm length to body length ratio of any basketball player I've ever seen. Watch Auriemma talk about her in any press conference or interview...says she is the hardest working player on the team. I've been watching UCONN basketball since Rebecca Lobo as I grew up in New England. This was the first time I have seen them in person...in awe. It was like the time I saw the Fab Five play in person...RIDICULOUS.

Hi TU_BLA, Uconn fan here. Where did you grow up in New England? Be glad you're not still back here....the winters have been brutal! I have a connection to Oklahoma as my dad went to OK State.

One of the things that surprised me about Stewart is how athletic she is. She runs well and has very good foot movement... interesting though, you wouldn't think she could. She is very pigeon toed. Check out how she walks next time you see her. I grew up with someone that was pigeon toed and he was always tripping over his feet. Doesn't seem to have any effect on her. BTW, she's 6'4" and has a wingspan of 7'1". Incredible. I'm going to be sorry to see her and Moriah Jefferson (actually my favorite player on the team) go. Stewie is such a good teammate. She's really helping Samuelson get acclimated to the college game. Really taken her under her wing. She's a very unselfish player that could easily average of 30 points a game. UConn rarely, if ever, has the top scorer in the league. Geno won't build his team around one player. Everyone can score, so no need to feature one player. She also doesn't get the minutes because most games are blowouts.

Anyway, hope things are going well for you in OK. Come back and visit us sometime!

I grew up in MA, near Cape Cod.

The entire team is freakishly athletic. TV really doesn't do them any justice whatsoever. Jefferson is crazy good and I think she gets overshadowed by Stewart. They all play so unselfishly and they all see the floor so well. They play basketball the way it was intended...Hickory High would be proud. What I am now realizing is Samuelson and Collier are both FR. Collier is crazy good, Samuelson is one of those pure basketball players.
